Traumatic abdominal wall hernia (TAWH) is a muscle-fascial rupture due to a blunt direct or indirect trauma. High energy trauma is the principal cause of TAWH and they are consequence of car accidents in 50-70% and motorcycle in 15-20%. Similar trauma is described even in infant age following bicycle handlebar trauma (handlebar injuries). Surgical treatment can be urgent or secondary according to the lesions of the patient. Visceral complications secondary to TAWH are extremely rare and they are difficult to treat.

Endoscopic band ligation (EBL) is performed for hemostasis in patients with colonic diverticular bleeding (CDB) due to its low rebleeding rate. However, suction and ligation are not successful in some cases. We describe the case of a 93-year-old woman with CDB in whom EBL failed. BACKGROUND AND AIM: A 75-year-old man who had eaten half a head of chopped raw cabbage (approximately 600 g) daily was suffering from the left lower pain, abdominal fullness, and constipation. He was diagnosed with colonic ileus and obstructive colitis due to a fecal impaction in the sigmoid-descending junction. During colonoscopy, a tapered catheter was repeatedly inserted into the impacted feces to inject a bowel-cleansing agent. Finally, the feces were broken to be fragmented enough to path the endoscope through. After the procedure, his symptoms were immediately relieved.

AIMS: The authors scrutinize the results of elective large-bowel operations, comparing the healing of handsewn and stapled anastomoses. A brief history of large-bowel surgery is also presented.
METHODS: Altogether 710 elective colonic anastomoses were made between 01. January 1979. and 31. December 2004. are evaluated. The complications and mortality rate after these operations are also mentioned. Giant cell carcinoma (GCC) resembling the lung in the ovary is a rare and aggressive tumour with no established standard treatment options. Acute diverticulitis is a particularly common medical entity, and its frequency increases with age. The most commonly affected part of the large intestine is the sigmoid colon, while right-sided diverticulitis is very rare. Here, we report the case of a 59-year-old man who presented to the emergency department due to acute right lower quadrant abdominal pain. The patient was diagnosed with a computed tomography scan of the abdomen with intravenous contrast with right-sided diverticulitis. The patient's treatment included hydration and intravenous antibiotics (ciprofloxacin and metronidazole).
