A comparative temporal network analysis of individuals with ADHD symptoms: an examination of the relationship between psychotic-like experiences and related factors using the Experience Sampling Method (ESM).

Psychotic-like experiences (PLEs) refer to hallucination-like (HLEs) or delusion-like (DLEs) experiences defined as subclinical phenomena located at the lower end of the psychosis continuum. PLEs etiology includes neurodevelopmental changes, maladaptive coping styles, exposure to negative emotions, and stress. These factors frequently co-occur in individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms, considered a risk factor for PLEs. A total of 188 participants from the general population completed the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) questionnaire and participated in a

Depression as inferential rigidity: a meta-abductive account.

INTRODUCTION: Depression is a highly prevalent mental disorder worldwide, and its cognitive rigidity-characterized by persistent negative beliefs resistant to countervailing evidence-remains a critical puzzle in philosophical psychiatry and clinical psychology. Existing theories of abductive reasoning have struggled to explain why similar adversities lead to rigid negative cognition in some individuals but adaptive coping in others. METHODS: Drawing on a hierarchical reconstruction of Peircean abduction, this study develops a three-layer model of depressive inferential pathology. The theoreti

Adding a Yeast Blend to the Diet of Holstein Females Minimizes the Negative Impacts of Ingesting Feed Naturally Contaminated with Aflatoxin B1.

Although a yeast-based additive was initially employed as a performance enhancer, subsequent analysis revealed high aflatoxin B1 levels in the corn silage. Therefore, the objective of this study is to determine if the use of a yeast blend in the diet of Holstein calves that consumed feed naturally contaminated with high levels of aflatoxin can minimize the negative impacts of mycotoxins on animal health, contributing to improved performance. For this, we used 24 Holstein calves (6 months old) divided into two groups: Control (n = 12; no additive) and Treatment (n = 12; 5 g additive/animal/day)

Data processing pipeline for managing enteric methane emissions from sniffer: Application on dairy farming systems.

Accurate quantification of enteric methane (CH4) emissions from ruminants is essential to support global strategies aimed at mitigating GHG outputs from the livestock sector. Among the available in vivo techniques, the sniffer method offers a noninvasive and cost-effective solution for large-scale monitoring, but lacks standardized procedures for data processing and validation. This study presents a pipeline for processing sniffer-derived raw data to estimate individual CH4 and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from dairy animals. The procedure was tested on 3 commercial farms in central Italy, c

Low n-3/High n-6 Flaxseed and Hermetia illucens Larvae Oils as Feed Materials: Effects on In Vitro Rumen Fermentation, Maternal Metabolism, Antioxidant Status and Colostrum in Prolific Ewes.

Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL; Hermetia illucens) oil and flaxseed oil provide contrasting fatty acid profiles and may serve as alternative lipid feed materials in ruminant nutrition. This study assessed low-α-linolenic/high-linoleic flaxseed oil, BSFL oil, and their blends using an in vitro rumen fermentation screening with pooled bovine rumen inoculum and a randomized prepartum feeding trial in 32 twin- or triplet-bearing Olkuska ewes. In vitro, the single oils and a 1:1 blend were evaluated at two inclusion levels; total VFA concentration was unchanged, whereas propionate proportion, the a

Maternal dietary citrulline supplementation increases fetal growth and programs pancreatic development in the lambs.

Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), caused by maternal undernutrition, impairs fetal growth and increases the risk for postnatal metabolic dysfunction. L-arginine can mitigate these effects; however, its use in sheep is limited by ruminal microbial degradation. Interestingly, L-citrulline, the precursor for arginine synthesis, bypasses ruminal catabolism and may be a practical alternative. This study evaluated if maternal L-citrulline supplementation to nutrient restricted ewes from gestational days (GD) 28 to 140 (term = 147) enhances fetal growth in lambs. Gestating ewes were fed 50% of

Exploring Cultural Influences in the Associations Between Emotion Regulation and Mental Health: A Systematic Review Comparing East Asian and Western Cultural Contexts.

Culture shapes how individuals perceive, experience and regulate emotions. Emotion regulation literature, which informs current understandings of emotional disorders, is largely guided by Western frameworks. This review aimed to systematically examine cultural influences on emotion regulation use, and associated mental health outcomes, among individuals from East Asian and Western cultural contexts. The literature search was conducted across five databases in June 2024; the final review included 54 articles. First, findings revealed that East Asian individuals tended to engage more frequently

The development of a parental identity during the transition to parenthood: A psychological resource for first-time parents' well-being.

The transition to parenthood is a momentous life event that brings about significant changes and profound adjustments in individuals' lives. This period poses challenges for new parents and can increase their vulnerability to mental health problems. Although this transition is an identity-defining episode, surprisingly little research has focused on the development of parental identity during this crucial phase. To address this gap, the present study examined the development of parental identity among first-time mothers and fathers and its longitudinal associations with their own and their par

Insensitivity as an Adaptive Psychological Resource for Mental Health: Development and Validation of a Scale Among Chinese University Students.

Depression and other mental health problems are increasingly prevalent among university students, highlighting the need to identify psychological resources that support mental well-being and early prevention. Adaptive Insensitivity has recently been proposed as a potentially adaptive psychological resource; however, no validated instrument is currently available to assess this construct. This study developed and validated the Insensitivity Scale (IS) among Chinese university students and further examined the mediating role of rumination in the relationship between insensitivity and depressive

Direct Oral Administration of Cold-Pressed Nigella sativa Oil in Neonatal Lambs: A Longitudinal Assessment of Systemic Safety and Hematobiochemical Responses.

Evaluating the in vivo systemic tolerance of phytogenic feed additives is a crucial prerequisite before their widespread application in vulnerable newborn ruminants. This study aimed to investigate the systemic effects of orally administered cold-pressed Nigella sativa oil on the hematological and biochemical profiles of neonatal lambs (0-45 days of age) fed exclusively on colostrum and maternal milk. The pre-specified primary endpoint was the absence of clinically meaningful change in hepatorenal markers and complete blood count between groups over 45 days. Thirty-two single-born Merino lambs

Entropy-based analysis of Rift Valley fever transmission dynamics using delay differential equations.

Rift Valley Fever (RVF) is a vector-borne, transmissible zoonotic disease in animals and humans caused by RVF virus and transmitted primarily by mosquitoes and biting flies. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), RVF outbreaks have great public health and economic impact, with up to 90% mortality in lambs and approximately 10% in adult sheep. Besides small ruminants, RVF affects cattle, camels, and goats and induces abortion storms and neonatal mortality at high rates, whereas humans develop severe febrile illness, hemorrhagic fever, or encephalitis in extreme cases. In this study,

Molecular evidence of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) shedding in the invasive American mink (Neogale vison) in southern Chile.

Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) is the causative agent of Johne's disease (paratuberculosis), a chronic enteritis affecting domestic and wild ruminants worldwide. While MAP transmission primarily occurs among livestock, increasing attention has been given to the role of wildlife in the maintenance and spread of this pathogen. Invasive species, such as the American mink (Neogale vison), may serve as unexpected source of infection or mechanical vectors for MAP, especially in regions where wildlife and domestic animals share habitats. In this study, we performed a specific MAP-I

Autistic Traits Are Associated with Suicidal Thoughts and Behaviors Among Patients with Borderline Personality Disorder.

Background: Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a pervasive mental health condition characterized by a heightened risk of suicidal behavior. Emerging research has suggested a potential overlap between BPD and subthreshold autistic traits (ATs), raising the possibility that these traits may influence the development, course, and severity of BPD, particularly in relation to suicidal ideation and behaviors. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between suicidal ideation, suicidal behaviors, and ATs in individuals with BPD. Methods: We assessed 106 subjects with BPD using the mood spec
