Vertebral artery dissecting aneurysms (VADA) are challenging disorders for neurosurgeons. Between December 2005 and May 2010, we treated 12 patients for DA of the intracranial VA. Three were treated by open surgery, seven underwent endovascular manipulation, and two were conservatively managed. Nine patients presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage from the ruptured aneurysm, and of these, two experienced abrupt re-hemorrhage and three presented with symptoms of brainstem ischemia. Tuberculous false aneurysm of the aorta is rare and has an unpredictable complication of aneurysm rupture. BACKGROUND: Behçet's disease is an autoimmune, systemic vasculitis disease that is characterized by oral aphthous and genital ulcerations and ocular lesions. Vascular manifestations in the form of aneurysms are the main predictors of mortality and morbidity in such cases. This was a cross sectional prospective study carried out in Kassala Maternity Hospital, Eastern Sudan (2008-2011) to investigate the incidence rate and factors associated with delayed presentation in ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Postnatal urinary ascites is a rare occurrence compared with other causes of peritoneal effusion at this age and its frequency in prenatal diagnosis. Spontaneous rupture of the bladder was diagnosed in a premature male infant presenting with postnatal ascites and anuric renal insufficiency. Surgical repair was required. No predisposing factor was associated with this rare complication. The urinary origin of the ascites was diagnosed based on the biochemical composition, allowing us to understand its mechanism and to treat it.

We present two cases of hematoma contralateral to the aneurysm. Case 1 is a 62-year-old woman presenting with a large left frontal intraparenchymal hematoma (IPH) and a right posterior communicating artery (PCoA) aneurysm. This is the first reported case of a contralateral frontal IPH from PCoA aneurysm rupture. Case 2 is a 58-year-old male with right PCoA aneurysm and left sylvian SAH. Both patients underwent coil embolization of offending lesions, with repeat angiograms revealing no other vascular anomalies.

A 51-year-old female presented with bilateral accessory middle cerebral arteries (MCA) with associated ruptured aneurysm manifesting as a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Angiography demonstrated the bilateral accessory MCA and associated ruptured aneurysm at the junction of the left anterior cerebral artery and left accessory MCA. This was successfully treated by coil embolization. Magnetic resonance angiography obtained 6 months later revealed no evidence of residual or recurring aneurysm.

Vascular lesions associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) are rare but can lead to catastrophic complications if disrupted. Ruptured aneurysms in NF1 patients are difficult to treat surgically because of vascular wall fragility. We describe a female NF1 patient with a ruptured aneurysm of her brachial artery. This is the first published case of successful reconstruction of a ruptured brachial aneurysm associated with NF1, using a saphenous vein graft.
