Adrenal incidentaloma follow-up is influenced by patient, radiologic, and medical provider factors: A review of 804 cases.

BACKGROUND: The majority of adrenal incidentalomas are benign, although some are large, functional, or malignant and may require surgery. Therefore all require follow-up. This study aimed to determine the pattern of adrenal incidentaloma follow-up in a level 1 trauma center, focusing on the factors that influence whether follow-up is facilitated. METHODS: Patients with computed tomography-detected adrenal incidentalomas between January 2010 and September 2015 were included. A keyword search identified case files, which were reviewed for demographic characteristics, managing unit, computed tom

Absence of cognitive symptoms in a 6-year-old male with post-traumatic increased intracranial pressure - A case report.

INTRODUCTION: Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) can range from mild to severe, and may result in increased intracranial pressure (ICP). Increased ICP causes hallmark physical signs, such as diaphoresis, emesis, fixed pupils, and altered mental status. Monitoring the patient's score on the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) and cranial CT scans are routine measures used in clinical practice to monitor the development of a TBI. PRESENTATION OF THE CASE: A 6-year-old male fell off his father's shoulders and subsequently presented to ED for suspected head trauma. He was transferred to our Level 1 Trauma Cent

Management of Tissue Loss After Agkistrodon Snakebite: Appropriate Use of Crotalidae-Fab Antivenin.

Although initially created for the treatment of rattlesnake (genus: Crotalus) bites, Crotalidae-Fab antivenin is used to treat many different pit viper envenomations. However, the efficacy of Crotalidae-Fab in preventing tissue loss from copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix) or cottonmouth (Agkistrodon piscivorus) snakebites remains unclear. Recent reports show that Agkistrodon-related bites rarely require treatment beyond simple observation and pain control. The purpose of this study was to examine the amount of tissue loss in patients who received Crotalidae-Fab compared with those who did not
