Previous studies have suggested the potential diagnostic value of circulating tumor cells (CTCs). This study aims to validate the efficacy of in vivo detection of CTCs in bladder cancer (BC) patients. A total of 216 BC patients were enrolled in this study. Urethral metastasis of bladder cancer after surgery is rare. We present a 63-year-old man who had surgery for invasive bladder carcinoma and prostate adenocarcinoma 4 years ago and referred for urethral hemorrhage. 18 F-FDG PET/CT was performed for restaging and showed intense linear 18 F-FDG activity in the proximal urethra. The patient underwent urethrectomy, and histopathology determined urethral metastasis.
