3D-Printed ROS-Scavenging, Proangiogenic, and Biodegradable Hydrogel for Enhancing Burn Wound Healing.

Burns present unique challenges for wound dressing due to excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS), severe vascular damage, and irregular wound shapes. To address this we 3D-printed a bioabsorbable dressing with antioxidant, antimicrobial, proangiogenic, and moisture-retentive properties. By grafting gallic acid (GA) and methacrylic acid (MA) onto gelatin (Gel), we conferredROS-scavenging and UV polymerization properties, respectively. More importantly, the incorporation of GA significantly improved the rheological properties of the GelGA-GelMA bioink, ensuring the printability of the scaffolds

Hyaluronic acid-doped bionic multilayer hydrogel scaffolds: Synergizing mechanical and lubrication properties for articular cartilage repair.

Joint cartilage's poor self-repair ability post-injury often leads to dysfunction and osteoarthritis. To tackle this issue, we developed a hyaluronic acid-doped bionic multilayer hydrogel scaffold (SCL), inspired by bionic design principles. The base layer (S layer) of the scaffold integrates polylactide with a silane coupling agent, KH570-modified nano hydroxyapatite, enhancing its mechanical strength. The middle layer (C layer), composed of polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA) and glycidyl methacrylate-modified hyaluronic acid, serves as a compression buffer. The top layer (L layer), made

EGCG-Modified Bioactive Core-Shell Fibers Modulate Oxidative Stress to Synergistically Promote Vascularized Bone Regeneration.

Oxidative stress induced by reactive oxygen species (ROS) can adversely affect tissue repair, whereas endowing biomaterials with antioxidant activity can improve the in vivo microenvironment, thereby promoting angiogenesis and osteogenesis. Accordingly, this study utilized epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a material known for its reducing properties, oxidative self-polymerization capability, and strong binding characteristics, to modify a bioactive core-shell fibrous membrane (10RP-PG). Compared to the 10RP-PG fibrous membrane, the EGCG-modified fibrous membrane (E/10RP-PG) exhibited superio

Bioactive hydrogels based on lysine dendrigrafts as crosslinkers: tailoring elastic properties to influence hMSC osteogenic differentiation.

Dendrigrafts are multivalent macromolecules with less ordered topology and higher branching than dendrimers. Exhibiting a high density of terminal amines, poly-L-lysine dendrigrafts of the fifth generation (DGL G5) allow hydrogel formation with tailorable crosslinking density and surface modification. This work presents DGL G5 as multifunctional crosslinkers in biomimetic PEG hydrogels to favour the osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). DGL G5 reaction with dicarboxylic-acid PEG chains yielded amide networks of variable stiffness, measured at the macro and surface
