UNLABELLED: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), characterized by pain and numbness in hands and feet, is a common side effect of cancer treatment. In most patients, symptoms of CIPN subside after treatment completion. However, in a substantial subgroup, CIPN persists long into survivorship. Impairment in pain resolution pathways may explain persistent CIPN. We investigated the contribution of T cells and endogenous interleukin (IL)-10 to resolution of CIPN. PURPOSE: A fundamental challenge in the era of next-generation sequencing (NGS) is to design effective treatments tailored to the mutational profiles of tumors. Many newly discovered cancer mutations are difficult to target pharmacologically; however, T-cell-based therapies may provide a valuable alternative owing to the exquisite sensitivity and specificity of antigen recognition. To explore this concept, we assessed the immunogenicity of a panel of genes that are common sites of driver mutations in follicular lymphoma, an immunologically sensitive yet currently incurable disease.

Brucella abortus elicits a vigorous Th1 immune response which activates cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is a demyelinating disease of the brain caused by JC virus (JCV) for which there is no cure. Dominant type-1 cytokine production is induced in a murine model of systemic histoplasmosis. We used this model to investigate whether the presence of antagonistic cytokines during T cell priming changes the polarity of T cells in response to Histoplasma infection. BACKGROUND: Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is a postthymic lymphoproliferative neoplasm of T cells caused by human T-cell lymphotropic virus (HTLV-1). Most cases are found in Japan, the Caribbean basin, and West Africa.
