Extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma (EMC) is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm, rarely reported in the genitourinary tract with only 5 cases reported in the vulva. Renal tumors are exceedingly rare in Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 1 (MEN1), a pleyotropic hereditary cancer disorder affecting the endocrine system. Herein we report a unique case of renal sarcomatoid carcinoma with concomitant ipsilateral non-secreting adrenal adenoma occurring in a young male MEN1 patient, previously operated for hyperparathyroidism and multiple pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms. Molecular analysis in the MEN1 locus at 11q13 showed loss of heterozygosity in the adrenal lesion, while kidney cancer was unrelated to MEN1 syndrome.

We report a case of metastatic lung cancer presenting as scalp metastases. Immunohistochemistry and radiological investigations helped in making the diagnosis. We also report better survival as seen in our present case using newer chemotherapeutic agents. The report emphasizes the need to look carefully for skin lesions as they provide easily accessible tissue for histopathology and also aid in proper staging as they can be missed out on routine radiological investigations. The case also reflects improvement in cancer care and outcomes in recent times.

Venous invasion as a prognostic factor was evaluated in 124 patients with colorectal cancer. Management of melanoma of the external ear is controversial. Thirty-one patients treated for this disease were identified at our institution between January 1, 1974 and December 31, 1989. Follow-up was an average of 7.12 years (range 1-15). Local therapy performed included 16 wedge resections, 3 split thickness skin grafts after excision to the perichondrium, 10 partial and 2 total amputations. We report a flow cytometric study on ploidy in 117 colorectal cancers. An aneuploid cell population was found in more than 70% of adenocarcinomas. Ploidy was found to be stage-related; aneuploid tumors with DNA index greater than or equal to 1.4 were found mainly in Dukes' C and Dukes' D stages (P less than 0.02). The DNA damage response (DDR) is activated by various genotoxic stresses.
