Morphology-controlled synthesis of nickel sulfide (Ni3S2) was performed directly on Ni foam using thioacetamide as a sulfur ion source. Various morphologies of nickel sulfide were fabricated using a hydrothermal process by adjusting the solvent composition of ethanol and water. In the water-dominant condition, a dendrite structure was obtained; otherwise, a flaky structure was achieved. In order to investigate the effect of surface morphology on the sensing performance in detecting sulfur dioxide, two different types polystyrene, polystyrene latex spheres (PLS) and polystyrene film (PSF), are synthesized by using an emulsion polymerization, which are coated on quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) surfaces. The reaction mechanism of the AuCl-catalyzed reaction of the α-thioallenes to give 2,5-dihydrothiophenes has been computationally studied using DFT (B3LYP/6-31G*, SDD for Au). We analyze trends of some nitrogen compounds using long-term measurements and results from the EMEP (co-operative programme for monitoring and evaluation of the long-range transmissions of air pollutants in Europe) chemical transport model at EMEP sites. We find statistically significant declines at the majority of sites for NH(x) (sum of ammonia and ammonium) in air and for nitrate and ammonium in precipitation, but only at a few sites for xNO3 (sum of nitrate and nitric acid) in air. Tightly curled 'frizzy' hair is a pathognomonic sign of giant axonal degeneration (GAD). The present study compares the morphological structure of the scalp hair of a GAD patient with that of her parents and first-degree relatives with the aid of scanning electron microscopy. To compare the efficacy of bulb and catheter suctioning of upper airway meconium in neonates, meconium labeled with technetium Tc 99m sulfur colloid was injected into the trachea and oropharynx of anesthetized kittens. Human birth conditions were simulated by an inflated blood pressure cuff around the thorax and abdomen of the animals and by partial degassing of the lungs before introduction of meconium. Honey is a high-value food product that is vulnerable to adulteration with exogenous sugars, posing challenges for food authenticity and consumer protection. This study applied Stable Isotope Ratio Analysis (SIRA) to assess the authenticity of honey collected from three major honey-producing regions of Ghana (Volta, Bono and Bono East). A total of 28 honey samples were analysed by elemental analysis-isotope ratio mass spectrometry (EA-IRMS) to obtain carbon (δ13C), nitrogen (δ15N) and sulphur (δ34S) isotope composition.
