Three-dimensional (3D) printing has emerged as an innovative technology to derive a maximum benefit from high-resolution tomography images and virtual 3D reconstructions. We present a case of an 18-year-old with a 2-year history of buttock pain who failed extensive treatment for a perceived hamstring strain. Upon evaluation, he was diagnosed with an ischial tuberosity nonunion avulsion fracture. The patient underwent bone grafting via an ultrasound guided leukocyte rich platelet-rich plasma injection followed by the use of a bone stimulator to enhance the bone healing. A case of aneurysmal bone cyst of the proximal phalanx in a young boy with unfused epiphysial plates is reported. Curettage failed, so diaphysectomy and cortical bone grafting were performed, sparing the epiphysial plate. This resulted in normal length and function, and the graft remodelled completely to a normal appearance of tubular bone.

Scaphoid nonunion is common, but the exact pathophysiology of this complication is unclear. Explanations include lack of treatment, poor initial treatment, delay in diagnosis, synovial fluid dynamics, precarious vascularity, fracture displacement, and carpal instability. Champy plates are becoming more and more accepted for the fixation of simple mandibular fractures, fixation of middle face fractures and fixation after Le Fort osteotomies. This area of indication can be extended by their use in cases of complicated mandibular fractures, fixation of bone graft, and immediate reconstruction following removal of mandibular tumours. Experience shows that Champy plates have the following advantages over other methods: the plates are small, flexible, easily adaptable and the monocortical screws allow a rapid surgical application.
