Whole-Body Vibration Promotes Neurological Recovery From Subarachnoid Hemorrhage via Meningeal Lymphatic Drainage and CD4+ Treg-Mediated Immunomodulation.

BACKGROUND: Whole-body vibration (WBV) has emerged as a promising non-pharmacological intervention for chronic neurological disorders; however, its underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic efficacy and mechanistic basis of WBV in subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a severe condition characterized by high mortality and long-term neurological deficits. METHODS: SAH was induced in mice via chiasmatic cistern injection. WBV intervention (frequency: 28 Hz, amplitude: 0.3 mm) was initiated 7 days post-SAH and continued for 3 consecutive weeks.

SLIPPERS Reconsidered: Clinical, Radiological, and Pathological Overlap with PACNS-A Case Report.

Background and Clinical Significance: SLIPPERS syndrome (Supratentorial Lymphocytic Inflammation with Parenchymal Perivascular Enhancement Responsive to Steroids) was first described in 2015 as a variant of CLIPPERS restricted to supratentorial regions. Only a few cases have been reported so far, and its distinction from primary angiitis of the central nervous system (PACNS) remains challenging, as both may present with overlapping clinical, radiological, and histopathological features. We report two patients initially diagnosed with SLIPPERS but finally fulfilling the diagnostic criteria for

Hematoma-driven immuno-epigenetic remodeling after intracerebral hemorrhage: cell-type-specific mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a life-threatening subtype of stroke characterized by the acute accumulation of blood within the brain parenchyma and progressive secondary brain injury. After ICH, dysregulated neuroinflammation drives a cascade of secondary injury processes that shape neurological deterioration and long-term recovery. However, the molecular mechanisms that determine the magnitude, temporal evolution, and resolution of immune-inflammatory responses after ICH remain incompletely understood, limiting the development of targeted therapeutic strategies. Accumulating evidence indi

Graph-Aware and Sequence-Aware Multimodal Deep Learning Framework for Cancer Detection and Risk Analysis from Medical Imaging.

Early and accurate cancer detection from medical imaging remains challenging because clinically relevant evidence is distributed across local image appearance, structural relationships between suspicious regions, and ordered imaging context. This study proposes a graph-aware and sequence-aware deep learning framework that combines a convolutional neural network (CNN) backbone for spatial feature extraction, a Graph Attention Network (GAT) for lesion-structure modelling, and a Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) module for ordered-view or slice-sequence representation learning. miR-133b-3p Mitigates D-Galactose-Induced Hippocampal Neuron Aging Through Autophagy Regulation via the MAPK/ERK Signaling Pathway.

Although remarkable progress has been achieved in contemporary medical research, effective drugs or prophylactic approaches targeting neurodegenerative diseases associated with aging are still limited. Increasing evidence suggests that microRNAs (miRNAs) are closely associated with age-related neurological diseases, positioning them as novel therapeutic targets. Autophagy in neurons participates in the renewal of damaged or aged endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, other organelles, and aggregated proteins during aging. This study evaluated the anti-aging mechanism of miR-133b-3p in D-galactos

Power-to-power cross-frequency coupling as a novel approach for temporal lobe seizure detection and analysis.

OBJECTIVE: Power-to-power cross-frequency coupling (CFC) is a novel method to index the dynamic spatio-temporal interactions between brain rhythms, including high frequency oscillations (HFOs). This research evaluates this promising method's capacity for seizure detection with intracranial EEG. Seizures can be conceptualized as composites of different electrographic patterns including (1) spike, (2) ripple-on-spike, and (3) ripple-on-oscillation. This study also performs a basic CFC analysis of each of these components which has potential to further the understanding of epileptogenic processes

Third exposure to COVID-19 infection or vaccination differentially impacts T cell responses.

BACKGROUND: In 2021, the rapid rollout of two doses of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines reduced COVID-19 severity and mortality. However, further vaccine doses as a prime-boost schedule were limited, and lifting of public health restrictions by late 2021 frequently led to infection, rather than vaccine, as a third exposure. OBJECTIVE: To compare how the third exposure through mRNA booster or SARS-CoV-2 infection shapes humoral and cellular immunity following two vaccine doses. METHODS: We compared immune responses after the third exposure in healthy adults enrolled in the UCLH-Crick Legacy cohort study (

Orchestrating T and NK cells for tumor immunotherapy via NKG2A-targeted delivery of a de novo designed IL-2Rβγ agonist.

As T and NK cell exhaustion is attributed to increased expression of immune checkpoints and decreased production of proliferative cytokines by these cells, immune checkpoint-targeted delivery of proliferative cytokines might induce robust and sustained antitumor immune responses. Here, the expression profile of NKG2A was first found to be narrower than that of PD-1 in tumor-infiltrated immune cells. Moreover, unlike PD-1, NKG2A was predominantly co-expressed with IL-2Rβγ in tumor-infiltrated CD8+ T and NK cells, but not in Tregs, suggesting that NKG2A might be an ideal target for delivery of I

GameSense: hierarchical spatio-temporal transformer for basketball player tracking and tactical performance analysis.

The analysis of basketball gameplay through multi-object tracking and action recognition is pivotal for enhancing player performance, tactical planning, and audience engagement. However, existing methods often suffer from limitations, including reliance on bounding box annotations, insufficient handling of occlusions, and a lack of holistic scene understanding. These limitations hinder the scalability and robustness of traditional approaches, particularly in dynamic and complex sports environments. To address these challenges, we propose a comprehensive framework combining the Basketball Playe

E.coli-derived CsgA-peptides stimulate cytokine production in microglia and lead to transient changes in neocortical Aβ-levels in pre-plaque APP SWE /PS1 ΔE9 and wild type mice.

Epidemiological and pre-clinical data propose that infections can accelerate the cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other dementias. The implication of infectious agents, and especially the role of E.coli and other amyloid-peptide producing bacteria, on the development and progression of cerebral amyloidosis and neuroinflammation, both key neuropathological characteristics of AD, has only been studied to a limited extent. In this study, recombinant bacterial amyloid surface protein CsgA was injected intracisternally in pre-plaque 8-11-week-old APP SWE /PS1 ΔE9 mice and age-match

Advancing epileptic seizure recognition through bidirectional LSTM networks.

Seizure detection in a timely and accurate manner remains a primary challenge in clinical neurology, affecting diagnosis planning and patient management. Most of the traditional methods rely on feature extraction and traditional machine learning techniques, which are not efficient in capturing the dynamic characteristics of neural signals. It is the aim of this study to address such limitations by designing a deep learning model from bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) networks in a bid to enhance epileptic seizure identification reliability and accuracy. The dataset used, drawn from
