Global randomised controlled trials in infection prevention and control: a bibliographic review from the past two decades.

BACKGROUND: Infection prevention and control (IPC) evidence is imperative to reduce healthcare-associated infections, yet IPC guidelines often rely on low-level evidence due to challenges in conducting rigorous randomised controlled trials (RCTs). Understanding long-term research trends can clarify strengths, gaps, and priorities. Therefore, this bibliometric review aimed to identify trends and patterns in IPC RCTs over the past 20 years. METHODS: A systematic search was conducted in the Scopus database between January 2002 and September 2025. RCTs in IPC were included. Identified studies wer

Assessing the impact of surgical timing on complication rates and functional outcomes in distal radius fractures: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

AIMS: Distal radius fractures (DRFs) are prevalent injuries, particularly among the elderly and young active individuals. Recent studies have emphasized the timing of surgical intervention, which may influence complication rates and functional outcomes. While some reviews have found no significant differences in outcomes between early and late surgery, others have suggested benefits from early intervention. Current guidelines from the British Orthopaedic Association Audit Standards for Trauma (BOAST) recommend surgical fixation within specific timeframes, yet optimal timing remains a topic of

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dual Diagnosis: A Systematic Review Exploring Its Effectiveness and Implications for Nursing Practice.

Dual diagnosis (DD) is defined as the presence of a co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder. It is associated with poor treatment outcomes, which can be further fuelled by frequent exclusion from specialist treatment due to the separation between mental health and drug and alcohol services. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) has an extensive evidence base in treating mental health and substance use disorders in isolation, but there is a paucity of evidence regarding its efficacy in treating DD. The current systematic review aimed to explore the use and effectiveness of CBT as a
