The aim of this study was to describe the frequency, major symptoms, and characteristics of colonic polyps in a cohort of children. A retrospective chart review of patients aged ≤ 18 years who were diagnosed with colonic polyp(s) from 2006 to 2019 in a tertiary hospital was included. Data collected included demographics, clinical presentation, interval of time between the onset of symptoms and the endoscopic diagnosis of colonic polyps, family history, characteristics of the polyp, and associated lesions. Over the study period, 35 Caucasian children were diagnosed with juvenile colonic polyps.

PURPOSE: One anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is now recognized as a mainstream bariatric procedure, nonetheless concerns about the risk of nutritional deficiencies and biliary reflux persist, and the ideal length of the biliopancreatic limb (BPL) is debated.

BACKGROUND: Jejunal diverticula are the rarest of all small bowel diverticula. Most patients with jejunal diverticula are asymptomatic. Major complications include diverticulitis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, intestinal obstruction and perforation. The hemorrhage has been attributed to diverticulitis with ulceration, diverticulosis associated with trauma and irritation disorder. OBJECTIVES: The literature related to eosinophilic gastritis (EG), gastroenteritis (EGE), and colitis (EC) is limited. We aimed to characterize rates of diagnosis, clinical features, and initial treatments for patients with EG, EGE, and EC.
METHODS: In this retrospective study, data were collected from 6 centers in the Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Researchers from 2005 to 2016. BACKGROUND: Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are heterogeneous, widely distributed tumors arising from neuroendocrine cells. Gastrointestinal (GI)-NETs are the most common and NETs of the rectum represent 15, 2% of gastrointestinal malignancies. Poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas of the GI tract are uncommon. We report a rare case of poorly differentiated locally advanced rectal neuroendocrine carcinoma with nodal and a subcutaneous metastasis, with a cytoplasmic staining positive for Synaptophysin and Thyroid Transcription Factor-1.
