Edge-cloud collaboration-driven predictive modeling for high-performance computing centers.

Accurate coolant flow prediction is critical for active thermal management in high-performance computing (HPC) centers, yet it is inherently challenged by mixed-timescale dynamics and high-frequency workload surges. Existing deep learning methods often prioritize global accuracy on smoothed stationary trends, which may lead to phase delays during abrupt thermal transients. In addition, high-capacity architectures can introduce non-negligible computational overhead for latency-sensitive, resource-constrained edge controllers. To overcome these limitations, this study proposes a deployment-orien

Toward the Computational Discovery of Single-Atom Alloys for the Direct Conversion of Methane to Methanol.

The efficient conversion of methane is crucial for the sustainable utilization of energy resources. The direct oxidation of methane to methanol (MTM) represents a strategically significant route in both the energy and chemical industries. However, the MTM process faces enormous challenges due to the robust stability of methane and the high bond dissociation energy of the C-H bond. Single-atom alloys (SAAs), characterized by unique electronic structures and atomically dispersed active sites, exhibit great potential for driving the MTM reaction with high efficiency and selectivity. Herein, by em

Injury Patterns and Predictors of Delays to Obtaining Computed Tomography in the North Region of Cameroon.

INTRODUCTION: Injuries constitute a global public health problem, with a higher disease burden in low- and middle-income countries where disability and mortality are significantly high. Accessibility concerns nevertheless persist regarding computed tomography (CT) utilization, the imaging workhorse for the assessment of most injuries. This study aimed to contribute to understanding injury patterns in Cameroon and to assess delays in obtaining CT in a low human development index setting. METHODS: A cross-sectional hospital-based study was conducted from July 2023 to December 2024 at a universi

Development of coumarin-based acetylcholinesterase inhibitors: Synthesis, biological assessment and computational simulations.

Novel coumarin-based derivatives (5, 6a-c and 10a-j) have been designed, synthesized and biologically assessed as multimodal anti-Alzheimer agents targeting acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) and glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β). The synthesized derivatives have been afforded in a good yield and the structures confirmed by the spectral analysis. Among these derivatives, four derivatives (10c, 10d, 10 f and 10i) exhibited remarkable inhibitory activity against the acetylcholinesterase enzyme in nanomolar concentration (IC50 = 5.93 ± 0.06, 3.97 ± 0.15, 3 ± 0.1, and 4.

Computational Insights into Selective Water-Methanol Transport in rGO/PSS Composite Films.

Reduced graphene oxide (rGO) wrapped with poly(styrenesulfonate) (PSS) forms a stable hybrid material (rGO/PSS) capable of producing ultrathin films with promising barrier properties for Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) applications. These films aim to mitigate methanol crossover, one of the major limitations of DMFC technology. In this work, we investigate the mechanisms underlying the methanol barrier effect of rGO/PSS, while maintaining water permeability. Classical Molecular Dynamics simulations were employed to explore the structural and dynamic properties of rGO/PSS at different polymer

Computational hybrid approach of PBPK simulation and CGCNN models for human intravenous pharmacokinetics.

In drug discovery, it is not sufficient for a lead compound to exhibit high binding affinity for the target protein alone. It is equally important to predict an optimal pharmacokinetic (PK) profile that reflects the physicochemical properties of the compound. In this study, we aimed to predict human PK by jointly employing physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) simulation and chemical graph convolutional neural networks (CGCNN) models. Using a hybrid approach that combines PBPK simulation with CGCNN models, we successfully constructed a model capable of predicting human area under the co

HiGATE: hierarchical graph attention for multi-scale tissue encoder in computational pathology.

BACKGROUND: Histopathological diagnosis is inherently a multi-scale reasoning process, where pathologists seamlessly integrate cellular morphology with tissue architecture. Yet, computational models remain fragmented by analyzing cells and tissues in isolation, missing the diagnostic synergy that emerges from their interplay. This disconnect limits both predictive accuracy and clinical trust. METHODS: We introduce HiGATE (Hierarchical Graph Attention Tissue Encoder), a biologically-inspired framework that unifies cellular and tissue-level analysis through a novel dual-graph architecture. Incidental Cardiovascular Findings in Lung Cancer Screening and Noncontrast Chest Computed Tomography.

While the primary goal of lung cancer screening CT is to detect early-stage lung cancer in high-risk populations, it often reveals asymptomatic cardiovascular abnormalities that can be clinically significant. These findings include coronary artery calcifications (CACs), myocardial pathologies, cardiac chamber enlargement, valvular lesions, and vascular disease. CAC, a marker of subclinical atherosclerosis, is particularly emphasized due to its strong predictive value for cardiovascular events and mortality. Guidelines recommend qualitative or quantitative CAC scoring on all noncontrast chest C

Computational evaluation of carnosic acid as a 4EY7 inhibitor for potential anti-Alzheimer therapy.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized in part by cholinergic dysfunction resulting from excessive acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity. Although currently approved AChE inhibitors provide symptomatic relief, their clinical benefits remain modest and are often associated with adverse effects. Natural products represent an important source of structurally diverse bioactive compounds with potential therapeutic relevance. In this study, we computationally evaluated carnosic acid, a diterpene from Rosmarinus officinalis, as a potential AChE inhibitor usi

ALDH1A3 Inhibition by Prosopis farcta Phytochemicals: A Computational Exploration of a Potential Antidiabetic Mechanism.

BACKGROUND: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition caused by insufficient insulin secretion or impaired insulin action. Traditionally, pancreatic β-cell loss has been attributed to hyperglycemia-induced apoptosis. However, more recent evidence indicates that β-cells can also undergo dedifferentiation, a process in which they lose their specialized identity and revert to a precursor-like state. ALDH1A3 has been reported as a marker associated with dedifferentiated β-cells in diabetes, making it a potential molecular target for studies of β-cell identity and their redifferentiation.
