Esophageal gland duct adenomas are extremely rare tumors. Here, we report the case of a 75-year-old Japanese man who had undergone total gastrectomy for advanced gastric cancer. Esophageal gland duct adenoma was incidentally found in the lower esophagus. It appeared to be detached from the site of gastric cancer and was well demarcated without a capsule. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: A cohort of 327 subjects with OLL, confirmed in 1973-1974 during a population-based survey in two Swedish municipalities, was followed through January 2002 via record linkages with nationwide and essentially complete registers. Mucosal melanomas account for 1% of all malignant melanomas in humans. Treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation therapy; however, local recurrence and distant dissemination are still frequent. We treated locally aggressive spontaneous canine oral melanomas that, because of their advanced stage, were not treatable with conventional strategies. OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether ultrastructural changes present in clinically normal oral mucosa could occur in the mucosas of patients with endemic pemphigus foliaceus (EPF) or fogo selvagem (wildfire).
PATIENTS: Surgical biopsy specimens were taken from the foreskin of 8 patients with EPF and 3 control subjects, the uterine cervix and vaginal wall of 9 patients with EPF and 2 controls, and the oral mucosa of 5 patients with EPF and 4 controls. AIM: To assess and validate the diagnostic value of buccal and vaginal smears in the ambulatory care of girls with potential disorders of puberty.
METHODS: Smears were obtained from 77 girls who presented for assessment of their pubertal status, stained as described by Papanicolaou, examined for signs of estrogenization according to the method of Schmitt, and compared with the clinical status.

We report the case of a 67-year-old Korean woman with antiepiligrin cicatricial pemphigoid. The patient's serum immunoprecipitated polypeptides that comigrated with those identified in serum from a representative patient with antiepiligrin cicatricial pemphigoid, and was reactive with the laminin beta3-subunit on immunoblotting. She presented not only with cutaneous, oral and ocular, but also with laryngeal and esophageal involvement. Because the supraglottic stenosis was severe, she had to undergo tracheostomy to maintain airway patency.
