BACKGROUND: Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome (PSIS) and holoprosencephaly (HPE) are congenital midline defects. Rare mutations in the sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling gene CDON have recently been reported in patients with HPE.
OBJECTIVE: To report a unique case of PSIS with a maternally inherited nonsense mutation in the SHH signaling protein CDON.

The anterior pituitary hormone serum levels of 13 patients of both sexes were examined for basal secretion and response to TRH-GnRH stimulus before and after parathyroidectomy. OBJECTIVE: The occurrence of antipituitary antibodies (APA) in patients with idiopathic hyperprolactinaemia (IH) and the effects of dopamine agonists on these antibodies and long-term pituitary function outcome have been so far not evaluated.
