Marginal zone lymphomas (MZLs) comprise 3 distinct entities: extranodal MZL of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT), splenic MZL, and nodal MZL. A 69-year-old woman with no history of malignant disease presented with complaints of ptosis, diplopia, and left upper eyelid fullness. Computed tomography showed soft tissue infiltration of the left superior orbit. Biopsy was performed through an anterior orbitotomy. Histopathology revealed a mucinous adenocarcinoma. Subsequent systemic evaluation included esophagogastroduodenoscopy, which revealed a primary gastric malignancy.

Meningeal carcinomatosis is an uncommon complication in patients with advanced gastric cancer. We report four cases of meningeal carcinomatosis occurring 18 months (mean) after the diagnosis. The presenting manifestations were headache, visual troubles and seizure. Cytological cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination was the most useful diagnostic tool for leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, considering the normality of brain CT scan and MRI in our patients. Intrathecal methotrexate administration achieved a rapid improvement in neurological symptoms in all cases, but for a short 2-3 months duration.

We report the imaging findings in a case of pedunculated exogastric leiomyoblastoma presenting as a wandering abdominal mass. Ultrasound and computed tomography showed a large, mixed solid and cystic mass in the peritoneal cavity. Computed tomography clearly showed that the mass was connected to the stomach by a narrow stalk. Small bowel follow-through showed subtle extrinsic indentation of the gastric body. The mass wandered from the right to the left side of the peritoneal cavity during various radiologic examinations.

Gastrinoma is a rare endocrine tumor that is frequently associated with liver metastasis. The liver metastasis is usually seen simultaneously or soon after a primary operation. We present herein the case of a 68-year-old man in whom metachronous liver metastasis from an alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)-producing gastric cancer was successfully treated. BACKGROUND: Gastritis associated hypochlorhydria may be protective against gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. It was hypothesised that the historic decline in Helicobacter pylori infection resulted in a decline in peptic ulcer and a concomitant risk in reflux disease.
