The diagnosis of essential thrombocythaemia (ET) is considered when all causes of reactive (secondary) thrombocytosis have been excluded in a patient with a persistent thrombocytosis. Among the chronic myeloproliferative disorders, ET has the highest proportion of young as well as female patients affected. We present the clinical characteristics of pregnancy histories and subsequent pregnancy outcomes of 13 women who tested positive for anticardiolipin beta2-glycoprotein I antibody (aCLbeta2GPI). The microsomal epoxide hydrolase (mEH) plays a significant role in the metabolism of xenobiotics such as polyaromatic toxicants. Additionally, polymorphism studies have underlined a potential role of this enzyme in relation to several diseases, such as emphysema, spontaneous abortion, and several forms of cancer. Chromosomal analysis of pre-implantation embryos was carried out in patients with a poor prognosis of full term pregnancy, which underwent induction of multiple follicular growth. In all, 1034 embryos generated from 191 stimulated cycles were screened for nine chromosome aneuploidy by using the multicolour fluorescence in situ hybridisation technique. This study uses epidemiological data to investigate socioeconomic proportions of distinctions raised by "racism" in Brazilian society. A population-based cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 2,779 women ages 14 through 49, living in a southern Brazilian city. The objective of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of hysterosonography in septate uterine congenital abnormalities and more particularly in septate uteri. A total of 14 patients with a history of repeated spontaneous abortion or infertility who had previously undergone hysterosalpingography were included in this study. DESIGN: Retrospective case-control study.
SETTING: In vitro fertilization and ET unit of a university hospital.
PATIENTS: Forty-four cycles of IVF-ET were undertaken in 24 women with genital tuberculosis and the results were compared with 366 cycles in 274 nontuberculous tubal factor couples.
