Ocular manifestations related to atopic dermatitis include keratoconus, keratoconjunctivitis, cataract, and retinal detachment. The authors report three cases of retinal detachment associated with atopic dermatitis. Although the pathogenesis is poorly understood, chronic blunt trauma may play a role in the development of retinal detachment. The authors report the use of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) to determine retinal blood flow in a patient with central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO). Spectral-domain OCTA (SD-OCTA) was performed on an eye with CRAO. En face vascular images were constructed using an optical microangiography algorithm. The retinal vasculature was clearly imaged with high fidelity; areas of perfused retina were identified with exquisite detail. This study supports use of OCTA in diagnosing and monitoring CRAOs. Future research is warranted to recognize full potential of this imaging modality. [

The author reports a case of a 16-year-old boy with decreased vision secondary to optic pit maculopathy. Clinical examination revealed two distinct optic pits in the optic nerve head with macular schisis and no subretinal fluid. Follow-up examination at 1 year demonstrated stable macular schisis and vision.
