OBJECTIVE: To assess the BMI among children with Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD) and Idiopathic Short Stature (ISS) and its correlation to ghrelin, Growth Hormone (GH), and Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) levels.

In this study, we have investigated the expression and function of the transcription factor early growth response factor 2 (Egr2)/Krox20 in the developing anterior pituitary. We have studied 41 children with early or precocious puberty who have been treated for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia with prophylactic cranial irradiation (1,800-2,400 cGy) accompanied by intrathecal methotrexate and systemic chemotherapy.
