Some widely used psychoactive drugs, such as tricyclic antidepressants and antipsychotic phenothiazines exhibit iatrogenic effects on the thyroid. The patients' views and costs of three different forms of treatment for Graves' hyperthyroidism were investigated. Radioiodine (I-131) is one of the accepted forms of treatment for thyrotoxicosis.
