[Application of motor behavior evaluation method of zebrafish model in traditional Chinese medicine research].

The zebrafish model has attracted much attention due to its strong reproductive ability, short research cycle, and ease of maintenance. It has always been an important vertebrate model system, often used to carry out human disease research. Its motor behavior features have the advantages of being simpler, more intuitive, and quantifiable. In recent years, it has received widespread attention in the study of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for the treatment of sleep disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, fatigue, epilepsy, and other diseases. This paper reviews the characteristics of zebrafish

Evaluating the Effects of the Exercise Is Medicine Program on Biopsychosocial and Behavioral Outcomes in Individuals with Cardiovascular Risk Factors.

INTRODUCTION: The benefits of exercise for cardiovascular disease prevention are well established, yet most patients fail to adopt regular exercise despite healthcare provider recommendations. While healthcare provider recommendations provide interpersonal support, exercise adoption requires the development of intrapersonal motivation and the presence of a supportive environment. The Exercise is Medicine (EIM) program utilizes healthcare provider referrals to connect patients with a community that fosters the translation of exercise beliefs into behaviors. The purpose of this study was to exam

Incorporating a Behavioral Medicine Approach in the Multi-Modal Management of Chronic Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS): A Clinical Commentary.

Equine gastric ulcer syndrome (EGUS) refers to mucosal gastric disease in horses, including equine squamous gastric disease (ESGD) and equine glandular gastric disease (EGGD), which present as two distinct disease entities differing in pathophysiology and approach to disease management. Both diseases are a source of pain in affected horses, partly explaining why EGUS continues to receive substantial attention in the equine medical, welfare and equitation research sectors. There is a complex interplay between EGUS and a variety of physical and psychological stressors. Horses with EGUS are often

The Society of Behavioral Medicine supports an increase in funding for Medication-Assisted-Treatment (MAT) to address the opioid crisis.

Opioid use has become an epidemic in the USA. Although there are safe uses for opioids to help manage acute pain, the effects of long-term use and any misuse of opioids can have grave outcomes, including death. To provide an empirically based "ask" for increased funding from the federal government to increase the reimbursement for and the integration of the behavioral component of Medication-Assisted-Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorders, current policy was reviewed and important gaps in funding and treatment fidelity were identified. Current barriers to treatment include a dearth of treatm

Cannabis use behaviors and prevalence of anxiety and depressive symptoms in a cohort of Canadian medicinal cannabis users.

Cannabis is commonly used recreationally for its euphoric and relaxing effects, while its medical use is permitted in several jurisdictions. With only low-quality evidence suggesting anxiolytic effects of cannabis and strong public sentiment surrounding such purported effects, the purpose of this study was to examine the prevalence of cannabis for medicinal purposes (CMP) use for anxiety symptoms. An online survey was disseminated to CMP users registered with a Canadian licensed producer. Respondents completed demographic and validated self-report questionnaires (GAD-7, PHQ-9, MINI-SPIN, and p

Using the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Framework to Promote Rational Medicine Use Among Breastfeeding Women: A Quasi-Experimental Intervention Study in Uganda.

BACKGROUND: Rational medicine use during breastfeeding remains a challenge, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Self-medication, incomplete dosing, inappropriate drug selection, poor adherence, and adverse drug reactions contribute to antimicrobial resistance. Although the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills (IMB) model has successfully influenced health behaviors, its application to promoting safe medicine practices among breastfeeding women in urban settings is limited. This study assessed the association of an IMB-based educational intervention with knowledge, attitudes, an
