We report a 83-year-old female with bile duct cancer who underwent subtotal stomach preserving pancreatoduodenectomy. We present a rare case of adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung in a patient with complete situs inversus. The patient was a 76-year-old woman with the chief complaint of hemosputum. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the rule of lymph node metastasis of adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung.
METHODS: The data of 361 surgically treated patients with adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung from October 1965 to June 2003 were collected and retrospectively reviewed. The classification of regional lymph node stations and TNM stage were determined according to the UICC criteria (1997). The route and patterns as well as influencing factors of lymph node metastasis were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 software. The median follow-up period was 5.5 years (range, 1.4 to 23.4 years).

Adenosquamous carcinoma of the pancreas is a rare tumor which has a less favorable prognosis than common ductal cell carcinoma of the pancreas, and a definite preoperative diagnosis of this tumor is quite difficult. Reported here is a case of primary adenosquamous carcinoma of the common bile duct. This unusual variant of the ordinary adenocarcinoma has not, to the best of our knowledge, been previously reported as occurring in the extrahepatic bile ducts. A tumor of notorious prognostic significance, it represents an exceedingly rare and peculiar biological phenomenon of malignant metaplastic change.

Adenosquamous carcinoma (ASC) of the tongue is an uncommon malignant oral neoplasm with mixed glandular and squamous differentiation and a propensity for aggressive clinical behavior. Adenosquamous carcinoma of the duodenal papilla is rare. A 73-year-old man was referred to the Saiseikai-Matsusaka General Hospital with upper abdominal pain and liver dysfunction. Computed tomography (CT) revealed dilatation of the common bile duct (CBD) and intrahepatic bile duct along with a tumor in the distal CBD. Adenosquamous carcinomas of the intestine are rare tumours, especially those occurring in the small bowel. We report the first case of a metastasizing adenosquamous carcinoma of the ileum in a 74 year old male. The tumour mainly consisted of squamous cells, many of which reacted with antikeratin antibody.
