Extra-ovarian recurrence of mucinous cystadenomas (MCs) is a rare phenomenon. This case report presents the first documented instance of a benign MC recurring within the uterine myometrium of a 48-year-old woman. Two years following an oophorectomy for a large left ovarian MC, the patient presented with lower abdominal pain. Imaging revealed a pelvic mass and subsequent surgery identified a cystic lesion arising from the uterine fundus. Histopathological examination confirmed a benign MC. This case underscores the importance of considering a broad differential diagnosis for pelvic cystic lesio

Urachal epithelial neoplasms are rare tumors that arise from the vestiges of the urachus. Mucinous cystadenomas are considered as a benign glandular tumors of the urachus. Cystadenomas are commonly found in the ovary, appendix, and pancreas. Mucinous cystadenomas of the urachus are extremely rare in the urachus, and only nine cases reported so far. We reported the 10th case of Mucinous cystadenomas of the urachus detected incidentally at the time of diagnostic laparoscopy for investigation of genitourinary tuberculosis.

Primary retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenomas (PRMC) are rare benign neoplasms with only 55 documented cases in the English literature so far. A 19-year-old female exhibited hirsutism and was found to have a cystic mass measuring 5.8 cm × 3.9 cm × 5.8 cm in the left retroperitoneum. During subsequent work up, a high pre-operative value of dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) was noted. The patient was referred to surgical oncology and underwent an uneventful laparoscopic cystectomy. Pathology classified the cyst as PRMC. Post-operatively, the patient's DHEA-S levels normalized, though there

Mucinous cystadenoma of appendix is a rare clinical entity with very few reported cases in the literature. Consensus on optimal surgical management has not been reached. We report the case of a 65-year-old female patient who presented with fistula over the right iliac fossa. Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen suggested abscess of the parietal wall. Upon exploration, a mass was found to be arising from the tip of the retroperitoneal appendix and the retroperitoneum was studded with mucoid material. Appendectomy was carried out and final histopathology revealed mucinous cystadenoma with no

Benign mucinous cystadenomas MCA are rare benign neoplasms in the pediatric age group. Only 19 cases have been described before, and they often present as large abdominal masses. We present a 12-year-old patient that had a huge mass arising from the left ovary causing bilateral hydronephrosis and renal insufficiency. The final pathology revealed a benign MCA. Patients with mucinous tumors usually present late, this may lead to renal insufficiency secondary to urinary outflow obstruction. Unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy is usually sufficient treatment for these cases. The diagnosis of MCA shou

Gastric duplication cyst (GDC) in an adult can have several clinical presentations. A review of the literature showed previously reported cases of GDC presenting as pancreatic pseudocyst or with greatly raised concentrations of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9). It is often difficult to discriminate GDC from pancreatic cystic tumour, in particular pancreatic mucinous cystadenoma, in which concentrations of carcinoembryonic antigen and CA 19-9 are classically raised. This report describes an adult case of GDC mimicking a mucinous cystadenoma of the pancreas. This is the first report of a simu

INTRODUCTION: Report of a rare presentation of mucinous cystadenoma of the vermiform appendix.
CLINICAL PICTURE: A lady who presented with intestinal obstruction and peritonitis was found to have gangrenous small bowel caused by strangulation by a tumour of the appendix.
TREATMENT: Right hemicolectomy.
OUTCOME: The histology of the appendicular tumour was mucinous cystadenoma. The patient recovered well.
CONCLUSION: Mucinous cystadenoma of the appendix can present in many ways and it is important to recognise the pathology at operation.

A 38-year-old female with systemic lupus erythematosus presented with abdominal pain, diarrhea and iron-deficient anemia. Computed tomogram showed a 2 x 4 cm inhomogeneous lesion of the right adnexa. An unusual mass was identified extending from the appendiceal orifice at colonoscopy, and an 8 cm tubular appendix, apparently prolapsed into the cecum, was identified at celiotomy. An appendectomy with cecectomy was performed. On cut section, mucin was extruded from the lumen of the appendix. A mucinous neoplasm of the appendix with mucinous dissection to the serosal surface was reported at the t

The clinical and pathological findings including light microscopic and ultrastructural features of two cases of borderline mucinous and serous cystadenomas that originated in the broad ligament are reported. The tumors did not involve the oviduct or ovary. They probably arose in pre-existing cysts of mesothelial and paramesonephric (primary Müllerian) origin. These rare tumors bear a close resemblance to the borderline epithelial tumors of the ovary and the same prognostic criteria may be applicable to the lesions presented here.

Mucinous cystadenoma is a benign tumor commonly found in the pancreas, the ovaries or the appendix. Only very few cases of these tumors originating from the lungs have been reported worldwide, with even less cases describing malignant transformation. We present the case of a 58-year-old woman with a history of recurrent pulmonary infections who underwent left upper lobectomy for lung abscess and was initially diagnosed with pulmonary mucinous cystadenoma (PMCA). Upon thorough immunohistochemical workup, especially due to carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) positivity, intramucinous singlet cells we

Primary retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma (PRMC) is a rare cystic tumor with unclear etiology and nonspecific clinical and radiological features, making preoperative diagnosis difficult. Due to its rarity, the optimal surgical management remains uncertain. We report a 60-year-old woman presenting with diffuse, colicky abdominal pain. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a large, well-defined cystic mass in the right retroperitoneum measuring 12 × 9 × 10 cm, without evidence of local invasion. The patient underwent successful laparoscopic excision. Histopathological ex

INTRODUCTION: Primary retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma (PRMC) is a rare tumor of uncertain origin, predominantly affecting women. Most cases are asymptomatic or present with nonspecific symptoms, making diagnosis challenging due to its retroperitoneal location and lack of distinct clinical signs.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 47-year-old woman presented with progressive abdominal distension, altered bowel habits, and flatulence. A 12-cm palpable mass was detected in the right flank. Abdominal computed tomography demonstrated a well-defined cystic lesion adjacent to the ascending colon. The patient

INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE: Primary Retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma (PRMC) is an extremely rare benign tumor, predominantly occurring in women, with unclear pathogenesis.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 31-year-old woman, with no medical or surgical history, presented with left flank pain.
CLINICAL DISCUSSION: An abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan revealed an 11cm retroperitoneal cyst. Due to its large size, percutaneous CT-guided drainage followed by a laparotomy surgical resection, were performed. Post-operative course was uneventful. Histological and immunohistochemical findings were cons

We present the case of a 61-year-old male with a long-term epigastric mass and pain, high CA 19.9 levels and no weight loss. A computerized tomography was performed and a solid-cystic pancreatic mass was observed. The lesion measured 10 x 8 cm with well-defined margins, a macroscopic calcification and an enhanced solid component.

Appendiceal mucinous neoplasm is a rare form of appendix disorder of all appendectomies. Patients may present with many non-special symptoms which the right low quadrant pain is the mostly reported. We reported a case of 70-year-old man who was admitted to emergency for abdominal pain and progressive aggravation of peritoneal irritation sign. Computed tomography (CT) revealed incomplete intestinal obstruction with volvulus of partial small intestine in right lower quadrant, and internal hernia was suspected and simple appendectomy was performed followed. The postoperative pathologic diagnosis

Mature cystic teratoma is the most common ovarian neoplasm. However, mucinous cystadenoma with teratoma has been very rarely reported in literature. This case report, which is very rare, describes a clinical entity not previously reported in literature. A 34-year-old pregnant woman presented in the 23rd gestational week with severe right lower quadrant pain. She was diagnosed with acute abdomen and was then treated surgically. During the surgical intervention, a spontaneously ruptured mass was detected in the right ovary. This was reported histopathologically as a mature cystic teratoma in col
