Oral administration of N-[4-(3-ethoxy-2-hydropropoxy)phenyl] acrylamide (EHA) induced selective granule cell destruction in the granular layer of the cerebellar cortex together with neurological signs, such as delayed righting reflex, gait or truncal ataxia, and convulsion. The structure of the endocrine pancreas in the sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax L.) was studied with special reference to glucagon-immunoreactive cells. As described in most of the teleosts, the sea bass was found to have a diffuse pancreas. In the adult, endocrine cells were clustered in a principal islet and numerous accessory islets where the glucagon A cells were localized peripherally. APOBEC3 cytidine deaminases and viral genomic RNA (gRNA) occur in virions, polysomes, and cytoplasmic granules, but have not been tracked together. The survival motor neuron (SMN) protein forms cytoplasmic granules when overexpressed. We report here that SMN co-localizes with TIA-1/R and G3BP, protein assemblers of stress granules (SGs), and that SMN is co-immunoprecipitated with TIA-1/R, suggesting that SMN granules are SGs. Formation of SMN granules precedes accumulation of TIA-1/R, indicating that SMN serves as a facilitator of SG formation. Granular cell tumors (GCTs) are characterized by abundant eosinophilic cytoplasmic granules. Based on the hypothesis that canine intracranial GCT is a subtype of meningioma and its cytoplasmic granules are formed through autophagy processes, histopathological and immunohistochemical examination were performed on biopsy samples from 7 cases of canine intracranial GCTs and 15 cases of conventional meningiomas. A 52-year-old previously healthy Caucasian woman presented with superior vena cava syndrome, secondary to compression of a bulky anterior mediastinal mass involving the right lung. Seven cutaneous mast cell tumors were identified in 6 geriatric California sea lions (Zalophus californianus). All tumors were within the dermis and grossly appeared as single, or in one case two, less than 1-cm-diameter, well-circumscribed, raised nodules.
