Dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging-based radiomics for predicting programmed death ligand 1 expression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

BACKGROUND: Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) is a key biomarker for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) immunotherapy. However, given that it requires an invasive approach based on immunohistochemical testing, novel non-invasive PD-L1 assessment is needed to guide the application of immunotherapy. PURPOSE: To investigate the potential of radiomics to predict the expression of PD-L1 in NPC based on dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI). MATERIALS AND METHODS: We enrolled 108 NPC patients who underwent DCE-MRI and PD-L1 immunohistochemistry. Radiomics features were extracted

Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging Findings and the Relevance of Histopathological Findings in Intraocular Solitary Fibrous Tumors.

Solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) are rare, and their intraocular occurrence is extremely uncommon. Therefore, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) reports of intraocular SFT are limited, making preoperative diagnosis difficult. We present a case of primary choroidal SFT and explore dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI findings along with histopathological findings. This investigation is expected to improve our understanding of the MRI findings of intraocular SFT. An 83-year-old woman presented with decreased vision in her right eye for several months. Computed tomography (CT) and MRI revealed a choroi

Vascular perfusion of human lung cancer in a rat orthotopic model using dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of death among cancers. Early detection and diagnosis present a major goal in the efforts to improve survival rates of lung cancer patients. Changes in angiogenic activity and microvascular perfusion properties in cancers can serve as markers of malignancy. The aim of this study was to employ MRI means to measure the microvascular perfusion parameters of orthotopic nonsmall cell lung cancer, using the experimental rat model. Anatomical and dynamic contrast-enhanced lung images were acquired at high spatial resolution, and registered and analyzed, pixel by pixel

The value of diffusion kurtosis imaging and dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging in the differential diagnosis of parotid gland tumors.

BACKGROUND: Parotid gland tumors (PGTs) are the most common benign tumors of salivary gland tumors. However, the diagnostic value of relative values of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) and diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) parameters for PGTs has not been extensively studied. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of combined DKI and DCE-MRI for differentiating PGTs by introducing the concept of relative value. METHODS: The DCE-MRI and DKI imaging data of 142 patients with PGTs between June 2018 and August 2022 were collected. Patients

Detecting clinically significant prostate cancer with a distributed parameter model based on quantitative dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging.

BACKGROUND: Prostate cancer (PCa) is a common malignancy with heterogeneous biological behavior, and accurate differentiation between clinically significant (csPCa) and clinically insignificant PCa (ciPCa) is critical for guiding treatment decisions. Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mp-MRI) has become an essential tool for PCa detection; however, the role of dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) remains limited in the current Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) guidelines due to its largely qualitative nature. Quantitative analysis of DCE-MRI through use of advanc
