Influence of antioxidants on two phototoxic effects of 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) was studied: erythema and changes in mechanoelectrical properties of skin. alpha-Tocopherol and its analogs with shortened lateral hydrocarbon chains at C2-atoms of chromane groups (chromanols) were used as antioxidants. alpha-Tocopherol and its analogs inhibited both phototoxic effects of 8-MOP. Age differences in skin potential level (SPL) of young adult and aged men were investigated using basal skin potential level (BSPL) procedures at three levels of epidermal hydration. A glycol medium was used at a site of least hydration. A distilled water and agar solution was the medium at two other more hydrated sites which also received either 0 min or 15 min pretreatment in distilled water. Understanding social interactions in emotional and cognitive planes has been the object of recent research through quantitative psychophysiological measures. Among these, Electrodermal Activity (EDA) remained relatively underexplored. This study investigates the potential of EDA as a tool for distinguishing emotional states based on the arousal domain of affect in dyads. Twenty-two healthy participants (11 dyads) observed the same affective images in pairs. Four active sessions, composed of 20 images selected from the IAPS database, were presented with progressively increasing arousal levels.

Using non-invasive biometrological methods, we evaluated the changes induced in the stratum corneum by a 3-week treatment with miconazole spray powder. In methadone maintenance therapy methadone plasma concentrations of 400 ng/ml are necessary to suppress any further opiate action and to provide stabilized maintenance.
