Neurofibromatosis type-1 (NF-1), also known as von Recklinghausen disease, is an autosomal dominant condition with an approximate incidence of one in 3000 births. NF-1 is known to involve multiple systems in the body. Abdominal involvement include neurofibroma and tumor growth in the liver, mesentery, and retroperitoneum in addition to gastric and bowel tumors. Gastrointestinal neoplasms occur in up to one quarter of patients. The author reports a rare case of diffuse submucosal neurofibromatosis resulting in gastric outlet obstruction.

This report is of the technique and results for through-the-scope stent in palliating malignant gastric outlet obstruction for 17 patients. All procedures were done using conscious sedation and fluoroscopy. Enteral Wallstents with a diameter of 20 mm or 22 mm and length 60 mm or 90 mm were used and delivered over a guidewire through an endoscope with an operating channel of at least 3.7 mm. Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare entity. We report a 41-year-old man who presented with features of gastric outlet obstruction due to a submucosal lesion in the distal end of the stomach. Distal gastrectomy with Billroth II reconstruction was done. Histology showed eosinophilic gastritis infiltrating the muscular and serosal layers of the pylorus and antrum.

BACKGROUND: An infusion of prostaglandin E1 is widely used to maintain patency of the ductus arteriosus in neonates with congenital heart disease.
