Pagetoid dyskeratosis is a benign incidental pathologic finding that has been reported in many distinct skin lesions on various locations of the body. A man who had pagetoid dyskeratosis within lesions of the penile shaft is described and similar cases of pagetoid dyskeratosis in lesions of the male genitalia are reviewed. OBJECTIVE: The recent increase in road traffic accidents and civil violence has resulted in a significant rise in injuries to male external genitalia, hence the need to document this new trend.
METHODS: All men and boys who presented to our institution with injuries to the external genitalia between 1996 and 2005 were evaluated for the cause, type and severity of injury. INTRODUCTION: The true incidence of urethral involvement in patients with genital lichen sclerosus (LS) is unknown. We review the epidemiology and discuss the pathogenesis of LS and urethral stricture diseases.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: During the period 1991-2002, of 925 patients who underwent urethroplasty for anterior urethral stricture, 130 patients (14%) received the diagnosis of LS. In all patients with LS the histology was re-examined to confirm the clinical diagnosis. Retrograde and voiding urethrography was used to establish urethral involvement in the disease.

Fixed drug eruptions exclusively involving the genitalia of 60 male patients were investigated. Forty-two of the 60 patients completed tests designed to identify the causative drug. Tetracycline, aspirin, metamizole, and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole were found to be common etiologic agents. The sites affected were the glans penis, coronal sulcus, and preputial skin. Superficial ulceration or pigmented areas surrounded by an erythematous halo were the main clinical findings at the time of presentation.

Two infants with ambiguous genitalia were recognized to have the XX male syndrome.
