Lobular capillary hemangiomas (LCHs) are a common form of benign vascular tumors originating from the skin and subcutaneous tissues. We have described the case of a 47-year-old man who had presented with a 1-month history of a tender swelling to the right temporal region. Biopsy was performed to rule out temporal arteritis and demonstrated a subset of LCH, now formally known as intravascular LCH. We have described the occurrence of a rare subtype of LCH arising from the intravascular wall of the temporal artery. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only reported case of an intravascular L

BACKGROUND: Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH; also referred to as pyogenic granuloma) is a common benign vascular tumor that is characterized by proliferation of capillaries with a lobular architecture. Lobular capillary hemangioma can involve superficial cutaneous, mucosal, or subcutaneous structures; the subcutaneous and intravascular variant is very rare.
METHODS: A 26-year-old female patient presented with a small infraorbital mass that was slowly growing within the last 6 months. She reported no pain but an uncomfortable feeling of pressure in this area. Six months before symptom onset,

Endobronchial capillary hemangioma is a very rare benign tumor in adults. The clinical presentation and management of adult capillary hemangiomas involving the tracheobronchial tree are not yet established. We present a case of an isolated capillary hemangioma of the right main bronchus detected during the evaluation of an adult male presented with hemoptysis.

BACKGROUND: Hemangioma of the heart, presenting as a primary cardiac tumor is extremely rare.
METHODS: We present a 20-year-old male with a cardiac tumor which was incidentally discovered during routine clinical examination.
RESULTS: Echocardiography showed a large intramyocardial mass attached to the left ventricle, close to the apex. A tumor was shown near the apex of the left ventricle by Cardiac CT. We performed a total resection surgery of the tumor one week after admission and the patient recovered well and discharged from hospital 7 d after surgery.
CONCLUSION: The pathological diagn

PURPOSE: Retinal capillary hemangioma (RCH) can occur in isolation or may be associated with von Hippel-Lindau disease. The classic RCH is described as a globular reddish lesion with a dilated feeding artery and a tortuous draining vein, indicative of a common endophytic growth pattern. Exophytic patterns are far more rare and, because of its subtle appearance, often missed or misdiagnosed.
CASE REPORT: A 24-year-old woman presented with complaints of a mid-peripheral superior field defect OS. She had no family history of von Hippel-Lindau disease. Best-corrected visual acuity was 20/20 OD, O

CLINICAL CASE: A 2-months-old girl had a fast growth hemangioma in the left side of the face, that involved upper eyelid and superior and external portion of the orbit, covering her visual axis and pushing the eye and lateral rectus muscle. We gave oral propranolol as treatment and we noticed a fast and constant hemangioma reduction and resolution of orbital and palpebral component.
DISCUSSION: According to previous researches, propranolol seems to be an effective and safe drug to treat capillary hemangioma. In our case, response to propranolol was satisfactory and with no side effects. This

Capillary hemangiomas of the testis are extremly rare tumors. We reported a case of intratesticular hemangioma, unusually localisation of this vascular benign neoplasm. The patient was 12 year old boy, with hydrocele and a palpabile testicular mass. Scrotal sonography revealed varicocele and hydrocele in the left scrotal sac. There was a solid hypoechogenic zone 5 mm in diameter in the left testis. Tumor markers like serum level of beta human chorionic gonadotropin and alpha fetoprotein were normal. The patient underwent surgery, and intraoperativ frozen section showed a capillary hemangioma.

BACKGROUND: Capillary hemangiomas of spinal nerve root, mostly affecting the cauda equina, are extremely rare.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 20-year old man was presented with back pain, radiculopathy, and urogenital symptoms. Magnetic resonance images revealed an intradural extramedullary mass, isointense in T1-weighted and hyperintense in T2-weighted images, with noticeable post injection enhancement. The clinical and radiological findings simulated neurinoma. However, a pinkish lesion was removed surgically and histopathological examination revealed lobules of capillary vessels separated by fibrous

Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH), also called pyogenic granuloma, is a benign vascular tumor that is pedunculated on the skin and the mucous membranes of the oral cavity. This disease occurs in all ages, but more often in the 3rd decade, and is seen in females more than males. LCH commonly appears in early childhood and affects males more than females in the pediatric age group. The gingiva, lips, tongue and buccal mucosa are the most common sites of mucosal LCH, but the nasal cavity is rare. Micro-trauma and hormonal factors are the most common etiologic factors. Epistaxis and nasal obstruc

A patient with a pyogenic granuloma which occurred in an unusual location and at an earlier age is presented. Pyogenic granuloma is not an uncommon entity which may occur on oral mucosa, face and fingers. The most frequent location encountered for oral cavity pyogenic granuloma is the gingiva and the tongue is a rare location for its occurrence. These lesions are usually seen between 11 and 40 years age. Surgical excision and removal of etiological factors are needed for treatment.

Spinal intradural extramedullary capillary hemangiomas are extremely rare. We present the MR imaging and histologic findings in three patients with this abnormality. The three patients were men who had symptoms of either myelopathy (n = 2) or radiculopathy (n = 1). The tumors were well demarcated, 1.5-2.0 cm in diameter, and were located at the posterior or posterolateral portion of the thecal sac (one at the L1 level and the other two at the midthoracic level). On MR images, the tumor showed isointensity relative to the spinal cord on T1-weighted images, hyperintensity on T2-weighted images,

INTRODUCTION: Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) is caused by exuberant neovascular response to infection, local irritation (e.g., trauma), or hormonal influence (e.g., pregnancy and consumption of oral contraceptive pills). Pyogenic granuloma is considered to be a misnomer. Although the gingiva is involved in most of the cases, there are is rare cases of extragingival involvement. Herein, we reported a case of LCH associated with the dehiscence of the underlying bony hard palate.
CASE REPORT: A 50-year-old woman presented with a gradually increasing swelling over hard palate for 2 years. She

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: In contrast to vertebral hemangiomas, which are very common within the general population, only 3% to 5% of patients with plasma cell dyscrasia show a single osteolytic bone lesion due to plasma cell infiltration without the evidence of generalized myeloma. The vast majority of these hemangiomas are completely asymptomatic and only discovered incidentally. In rare occasions, representing only 1% to 2% of the known lesions, a locally aggressive subtype can cause problems analogous to the ones triggered by a plasmocytoma, ranging from back pain to vertebral compression fractu

Periocular infantile capillary hemangiomas do not always respond well to conventional treatment modalities such as systemic or intralesional corticosteroids, radiotherapy or debulking surgery. The authors describe the use of intralesional bleomycin injections (IBIs) to treat potentially amblyogenic lesions in two cases where other modalities have failed. In both cases monthly IBIs successfully cleared the visual axis of the affected eye before the age of 1 year thus preventing permanent sensory deprivation amblyopia. A total of five and nine injections, respectively, were used and no significa
