Immunoglobulin (Ig) A nephropathy (IgAN) is a known autoimmune disease due to abnormal glycosylation of IgA1, and occasionally, IgG co-deposition occurs. The prognosis of IgG co-deposition with IgAN is adverse, as shown in the previous studies. However, in the clinical setting, monoclonality of IgG co-deposition with IgAN has not been observed. A novel method was developed to obtain both highly purified bovine serum albumin (BSA) and immunoglobulin G (IgG), at the same time, on a pilot scale. Heat-isopropyl alcohol was used to denature and precipitate the other plasma proteins, except for BSA and IgG; then, CM-Trisacryl was applied to further purify and isolate BSA and IgG. Serum transfer from hyperimmune rats provided a significant degree of protection against Strongyloides ratti in mature, recipient rats. The levels of IgA, IgM and IgG were determined by the method of Mancini in 72 cases of ischaemic brain strokes. Different immunoglobulin fractions showed different changes. The highest IgA level was observed in the first week after the onset of the disease, while that of IgM was highest between the 4th and the 6th weeks of the disease. IgG values were not different from those in controls. Besides laboratory investigations the material was analysed from the standpoint of clinical manifestations, location of lesions and outcome of the disease.

OBJECTIVES: This study was designed to develop and validate a radiomic nomogram for the differential diagnosis of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-related disease (MOGAD) and aquaporin-4 immunoglobulin G-positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4+NMOSD).
METHODS: We retrospectively analysed data from a primary cohort consisting of 21 MOGAD and 63 AQP4+NMOSD patients and an external validation cohort comprising 10 MOGAD and 34 AQP4+NMOSD patients. Radiomic features were extracted from lesions of the cervical spinal cord and brainstem from sagittal T2-weighted MR images.

A quantitative estimate of the IgG subclasses in patients with farmer's lung has revealed significantly higher IgG3 levels in patients with this condition compared to an age-matched group of control farmers similarly exposed to Micropolyspora faeni (P less than 0.01) and a group of normal blood bank donors (P less than 0.001). The IgG1 and total IgG levels were significantly higher in both groups of farmers compared to blood bank controls (P less than 0.001).
