PURPOSE: To present a relatively uncommon case with a secondary iris cyst in the anterior chamber and its successful management with an anterior chamber mass excision surgery.

BACKGROUND: Lesions of the iris require a thorough examination to differentiate them from malignant melanoma because of the severe therapeutic consequences of the latter entity.
METHODS: We observed two cases with a unilateral lesion on the iris, both suspicious of malignant melanoma of the iris. Ophthalmological, echographic and ultrasound biomicroscopic examinations were done.

The case is described of a unilateral retinoblastoma in a 7-year-old girl which was initially misdiagnosed because of massive anterior segment involvement in the apparent absence of a retinal lesion. Only on histopathological examination of the enucleated eye was the presence of retinal tumour established, this being confined to two minute foci at the extreme periphery.

Uveal melanoma is the most frequent primary intraocular neoplasm in adults. Uveal melanoma is the most common primary intraocular neoplasm in adults. Its bilateral localization is extremely rare. The aim of the paper is analysis of the cases of bilateral uveal melanoma. Five bilateral uveal melanoma patients were diagnosed in the Department of Ophtalmology and Ocular Oncology beetwen 1980 and 2014. Both eyes of four patients were threated with brachytherapy. Report on a 30-year-old male patient suffering from malignant melanoma (spindle-cell type A) of the iris and ciliary body who developed pigmentation within the scar tissue, diagnosed as melanoma recurrence, 2 years after iridocyclectomy. Therefore, enbloc excision was performed 5 years after the first tumor excision. Histologic examination revealed no tumor cells, only melanophagocytosis and local proliferation of lens epithelium in the form of Wedl bladder cells.
