BACKGROUND: Contact dermatitis is a common complication in prosthetic limb users. There are no effective, available and cheap treatments for skin problems of these patients. In traditional Iranian medicine, henna (Lawsonia inermis L.) is a plant that has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and skin-enhancing properties, all of which are beneficial for people with artificial limbs. The aim of this study was to determine the role of Lawsonia inermis (L. inermis) extract in the chronic constriction injury (CCI)-induced neuropathic pain. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Soleshine is a polyherbal preparation established in the market for the treatment of cracks and tinea pedis, which is applied externally. This preparation is composed of the extracts of indigenous plants, namely Azadirachta indica, Lawsonia alba, and Shorea robusta, mixed with castor oil and sesame oil. PURPOSE: Henna artists are frequently exposed to para-phenylenediamine (PPD), a common hair dye component, raising concerns about its nephrotoxic effects. This study investigates the association between long-term PPD exposure and chronic kidney disease (CKD) among henna artists in Sudan.
