BACKGROUND: Lipoblastoma is an exceedingly rare cause of pediatric head and neck masses. There have been 47 cases previously reported in the English literature. We present an additional case and review of the available literature on this rare neoplasm.
OBJECTIVE: To review and assess the current published literature regarding the efficacy of preserving neurovascular structures in the surgical management of pediatric lipoblastoma.
METHODS: Literature analysis of case reports was performed. MEDLINE was searched for the terms "neonatal lipoblastoma", "lipoblastomatosis", and "benign lipoblastom

Lipoblastoma is a benign mesenchymal tumor of embryonic adipose tissue, uncommon in infancy. Multicentricity, absence of a capsule and histopathology best defines a lipoblastoma. Synonyms for this lesion are embryonic lipoma, fetal lipoma, lipoblastic tumor, and congenital lipomatoid tumor. Lipoblastoma is more common in males (approximately 80%), is usually located in the subcutaneous soft tissue (benign lipoblastoma) or in the deep interstitium (benign lipoblastomatosis), or sometimes in all corporeal segments. Primary treatment is complete excision. Relapse is between 14-25%, many of which

Lipoblastoma, a rare benign tumor of adipose tissue, typically occurs in the superficial or deep layers of soft tissue on the trunk or extremities. Other sites of occurrence include the head, neck, and retroperitoneum. Lipoblastoma of the chest wall and parietal pleural have been reported, but occurrence within the lung has not been previously described. We report a case of pulmonary lipoblastoma in a young child presenting with complete opacification of the left hemithorax and mediastinal shift on chest radiograph. A lobectomy was performed, and the diagnosis was made by histological examinat

Lipoblastoma is an uncommon benign tumor derived from embryonal adipose tissue and is most commonly diagnosed in children under three years of age. Pelvic localization is uncommon and may lead to compressive complications depending on tumor size and extension. We report the case of a 17-month-old male infant presenting with a left pelvic lipoblastoma with gluteal extension. The clinical history was marked by progressive limping evolving over six months. Clinical examination revealed a pelvic mass associated with neurological impairment of the left lower limb. MRI demonstrated a large fatty tum

BACKGROUND: Lipoblastomas are rare, benign, soft tissue tumors that occur primarily in young children. Treatment includes complete excision and surveillance for recurrence. Lipoblastomas can be indistinguishable from other benign lipomatous tumors and liposarcomas. Cytogenetic analysis can provide the definitive diagnosis in questionable cases, because benign and malignant lipomatous tumors exhibit specific nonrandom cytogenetic abnormalities. The purpose of the present study was to discuss the disease management and outcomes in a large contemporary group of patients with lipoblastoma.

Lipoblastomatous tumors are quite rare neoplasms derived from embryonic white fatty tissues. The majority is seen in infancy and early childhood. Generally they arise in extremities. Here, we present a 12-month-old female infant presenting with a mediastinal and cervical mass, showing left diaphragmatic eventration. We reviewed these cases and discussed clinical manifestations, radiologic, and histopathologic findings and treatment of these tumors.

Lipoblastoma (LB) is a rare benign tumor of adipose tissue that typically occurs in infancy and early childhood. Its thoracic location with an intrathoracic extension is exceedingly uncommon. This study aims to describe a rare case of thoracic lipoblastoma. The main challenges in this case stem from its unusual location and the tumor's considerable size, which elevate surgical and anesthesiology risks. We present the case of a one-year-old boy with a history of cough and fever, which were treated symptomatically. Incidentally, a chest X-ray revealed a tumor. Computed tomography revealed a gian

Lipoblastoma is a benign tumor of adipocytic differentiation originating from embryonal white fat that is commonly described in young children, with rare cases arising in adults. PLAG1 gene (8q11-13) rearrangement is a characteristic feature of lipoblastoma. However, HMGA2 gene rearrangement has also been reported in a few cases of lipoblastoma, with the gene fusion partners reported thus far being EP400, FGD6, and GSN genes. Herein, we report an HMGA2-rearranged lipoblastoma arising in the chin of a 51-year-old female with a novel gene fusion partner, the GRIP1 gene, that has not been previou

BACKGROUND: Lipoblastoma-like tumors (LLTs) are uncommon lipogenic neoplasms that predominantly occur in the vulva of female individuals. This study presents a novel case of LLT located on the tongue with an IDH1 mutation. Both the site of occurrence and molecular alterations are reported for the first time.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 65-year-old female patient presented to the hospital 1 month ago with an incidental finding of a multinodular mass at the right lingual margin. We performed an incision along the outer edge of the mass and completely excised it 0.5 cm beyond its periphery. The final p

Lipoblastoma-like tumor (LLT) is a rare adipocytic neoplasm with a predilection for the vulva. Since 2002, <30 cases have been reported, characterizing it as an indolent tumor that may sometimes recur locally. Diagnosis can be challenging due to its rarity and morphologic overlap with other adipocytic tumors. Thus far, there are no specific molecular or immunohistochemical features to aid in the diagnosis of LLT. Recent case reports have described LLT arising at other sites, including the spermatic cord and gluteal region, suggesting wider anatomical distribution. We present a large series of

Lipoblastoma can arise almost anywhere within the soft tissues, especially in the extremities. It is rarely seen retroperitoneally. A 3-year-old girl presented with a palpable abdominal mass underwent an exploratory laparotomy with resection of the retroperitoneal mass. Based on histopathologic and cytogenetic features, a final diagnosis of lipoblastoma was rendered. At 18-month follow-up, she had no evidence of recurrence.

Lipoblastomas arising within the parotid gland and extending into the infratemporal fossa are very rare. They are common in children <3 years of age. Access to the tumour requires careful planning and interpretation of imaging studies. Lipoblastomas tend to recur. Meticulous dissection of the tumour is needed to prevent recurrence. By adopting the appropriate approach, complete removal is possible with minimal morbidity.

Lipoblastomas are benign tumors of the embryonic lipoid cells mainly occurring in infancy and early childhood. They are clinicopathologically distinguished in two forms: the well-circumscribed and localized type and the diffuse, irregularly confined type with infiltrative growth pattern, also called lipoblastomatosis. We report two pediatric cases of a mesentery localized and cervical diffuse lipoblastomas investigated both with ultrasound and computed tomography examinations.

BACKGROUND: Lipoblastoma is a benign tumor of embryonal fat tissue that typically affects children under the age of 3 years. The impact of lipoblastoma on the body largely depends on the tumor's location and its involvement with adjacent organs. Mediastinal lipoblastoma, a relatively rare form, often presents with dyspnea and difficulty breathing, however, airway involvement has not been previously reported.
CASE PRESENTATION: We describe a 4-month-old female infant diagnosed with lipoblastoma in the mediastinum and endotracheal region, leading to progressive upper airway obstruction and dysp

Lipoblastomas are rare benign soft tissue tumors that occur primarily in young children. Most lipoblastomas occur in the extremities, trunk, head, and neck. An intrascrotal location is unusual. We describe a case of a 4-month-old infant with an intrascrotal lipoblastoma and discuss the differential diagnosis and review the literature.

UNLABELLED: The engineering of durable small-diameter vascular grafts remains constrained by the challenge of simultaneously achieving mechanical robustness, controlled degradation, and instructive scaffold architecture. Here, we report a programmable dual-crosslinked metallo-elastomer platform, poly(1,3-propylene itaconate-co-2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxylate-co-succinate-co-sebacate) (M-PBIS), that integrates dynamic metal-ligand coordination with covalent crosslinking to enable orthogonal control over network mechanics, time-dependent viscoelastic behavior, and processability. Lipoblastoma-like tumors (LLTs) are benign adipocytic tumors characterized by an admixture of lipoblasts within the myxoid stroma, primarily affecting the vulvovaginal area in young patients. Rare cases have been reported in other locations, including the orofacial region. Here, we present a unique case of LLT of the tongue in a 62-year-old woman with a slowly developing painless nodule. The tumor showed no signs of recurrence five years after surgery. Histopathological examination revealed a myxo-fatty lobulated lesion with numerous uni- and multi-vacuolated lipoblasts and prominent chicken-w
