A review of our previous immunological studies on Kawasaki disease (KD) was undertaken. BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES: To examine β-D-mannuronic acid (M2000) effects on L-selectin shedding and leucocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1) expression as mechanisms of action of this drug in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS).

The aims of this work were to evaluate the protective role of the 250-kDa polypeptide band of Naegleria fowleri. We designed an immunization strategy in Balb/c mice which were inoculated by i.n. route with an electrocuted 250-kDa polypeptide band of N. fowleri. Using human macrophage hybridomas infected with HIV-1, we investigated monocyte function over a 5-week period after HIV-1 infection. Two clones, 63 and 30, were infected with HIV-1IIIB. Monocytes obtained from patients with Behçet's disease (BD) were examined for differentiation markers (expression of CD14 and antigens reacting with monoclonal antibodies 25F9 and G16/1) and for expression of selected adhesion molecules.
