BACKGROUND: We aimed to present our experience with and algorithm for septal perforation repair using advancement and rotation flaps.
METHODS: A retrospective chart review was performed on 14 patients who underwent septal perforation repair. Etiology, perforation size, presenting symptoms, reconstruction methods, combined operation, surgical results, and complications were evaluated.
RESULTS: The mean postoperative follow-up duration was 36 ± 18 months. Among 14 cases, 9 had previous septoplasty or septorhinoplasty and 5 cases suffered from nasal trauma. The perforation sizes varied from 5 t

A rabbit was presented for severe dyspnea and was diagnosed with an odontogenic abscess obstructing the rostral nasopharynx using CT scan and oral endoscopy. The offending tooth was extracted intraorally, but due to persistent dyspnea, an endoscopic-guided ventral rhinotomy was performed. A nasal septal abscess is a rare lesion that usually results from a nasal septal hematoma after nasal trauma or surgery, although it can occur unexpectedly. Nasal septal abscesses should be prevented and treated immediately. The authors describe 2 unusual cases: 1 caused by sudden loosening of the quilting suture of the nasal septum and the other by a nasopharyngeal swab test for coronavirus disease-2019. OBJECTIVE: Nasal obstruction always occurs when the nasal passages are narrowed by a hypertrophic turbinate or a deviated nasal septum. Patients with nasal obstruction often have associated snoring. Laser-assisted outpatient septoplasty (LAOS) has a specific clinical application in chronic nasal obstruction due to moderate anterior septal deviation. Significant improvement has been reported in the measures of nasal obstruction following LAOS. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of LAOS as an adjunctive procedure for snoring resulting from nasal obstruction.
