Syringocystadenoma papilliferum (SCAP) is a benign adnexal tumor commonly found on the scalp and face, and often associated with nevus sebaceous, with about half of cases appearing in early childhood. Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis (EH) has been described as a reaction pattern in a variety of solitary skin lesions. We have noted that EH seems to occur more frequently in association with atypical than with typical acquired nevi. To support or refute this observation, the prevalence of EH in 250 cases of atypical compound nevi and in 250 cases of typical compound nevi was determined. Retinoblastoma protein (pRB) is the product of a tumour-suppressor gene (rb) mapped to chromosome 13q14. pRB acts as a control checkpoint at the G1 phase of the cell cycle, preventing cells from entering into the S phase. Solcoderm was used in the management of various epidermal growths in 372 patients with 1,002 lesions, including condyloma acuminatum, verruca plana, basal cell epithelioma, intradermal nevus, seborrheic and solar keratosis. Nevus lipomatosus superficialis is a rare disorder characterized by a nevoid fatty growth within the papillary and reticular dermis. Lesions more often occur in the sacral, abdominal, or pelvic regions. A 36-year-old Brazilian female with giant nevus lipomatosus is reported.
