Hepatobiliary studies on five patients with Dubin-Johnson syndrome were performed using 99mTc-PMT. Time-activity curves of the liver of the patients showed delayed excretion and that plasma elimination in the patients was prolonged compared to that of normal subjects.

We present a 73-year-old man with de novo metastatic prostate cancer who had received chemotherapy and androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). An increase in his serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level during ADT prompted a referral for restaging. The diagnostic usefulness of somatostatin receptor scintigraphy in the localization of tumors has been evaluated in several studies. Here, we present the case of a patient with a subserosal myoma diagnosed by (99m)Tc-labeled octreotide acetate scintigraphy. Oval and ring-shaped areas of hyperactivity in the pelvis were confirmed on MR imaging to be the uterus and a subserosal myoma. In 77 of 114 consecutive patients with suspected hepatobiliary disease undergoing cholescintigraphy a firm clinical or operative diagnosis was possible. These patients were classified as normal, or as having extra-hepatic biliary obstruction (partial or complete) or hepatocellular disease. On a double-blind basis cholescintigraphy correctly interpreted 18 of 20 (90%) normal controls, 12 of 14 (86%) of those with partial obstruction, 16 of 16 (100%) of those with complete obstruction and 23 of 27 (85%) of those with hepatocellular disease giving an overall diagnostic accuracy of 69 of 77 (90%).

The scintigraphic and sonographic findings in 70 patients with pathologically confirmed gallbladder disease are described. Fifty-two patients were found to have had acute cholecystitis. Breast cancer ranks the second position among the cancer of women in Japan. We report two cases of breast cancer detected by 99mTc-tetrofosmin. A 42-year old woman with hyperparathyroidism had a CT scan that was suggestive of a small nodular lesion in the left lower neck. Tc-99m sestamibi and Tc-99m tetrofosmin parathyroid imaging were performed 10 minutes and 2 hours after tracer injection. Early imaging with Tc-99m sestamibi demonstrated thyroid and focal uptake in the left lower neck. On delayed imaging, findings suggested a parathyroid adenoma. Imaging with Tc-99m tetrofosmin demonstrated similar findings. The abnormal parathyroid gland was an adenoma.

A 31-year-old woman who had multiple orthopedic surgeries on the left lower limb and recently suffered from pain and redness in the lateral left lower thigh was referred to the hospital to rule out osteomyelitis by [99mTc]UBI scintigraphy. Except soft tissue inflammation in the mentioned region, the scan showed significant and diffuse both lungs uptake incidentally. The patient had experienced symptoms of COVID-19 disease recently. We present a case in which an amyloid lung nodule was diagnosed preoperatively by amyloid scintigraphy (99m)Tc-aprotinin. A 65-year-old man complained of marked weight loss (9 kg) over a period of 6 months.
