Patient satisfaction based on concordance in demographic factors between anesthesiologist and patient.

BACKGROUND: The impact of demographic concordance between patient and anesthesiologist on patient satisfaction is unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between satisfaction with anesthesia care and patient-anesthesiologist demographic concordance. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study of select patient responses to the 24-question Anesthesiologist Patient Safety Questionnaire from June 2023 through December 2024 at a large U.S. anesthesia practice. We examined the relationship between age, sex, and race/ethnicity concordance and patient satisfaction. Multiva

Patient, provider, and clinic characteristics associated with public STD clinic patient satisfaction.

OBJECTIVES: There is a lack of information describing levels of patient satisfaction among patients seeking sexually transmitted diseases (STD) care in a public clinic setting. We sought to identify patient, provider, and clinic characteristics associated with patient satisfaction within public STD clinics. METHODS: A cross sectional survey with random sampling was conducted among patients attending two public STD clinics. Satisfaction was assessed using questions from validated national surveys. Outcomes for multivariate logistic regression analysis were ratings of overall health care and cl

Return to sport and patient satisfaction after periacetabular osteotomy.

INTRODUCTION: Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) often affects young, active patients and can lead to early osteoarthritis. Periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) is a joint-preserving surgery to reorient the acetabulum and delay arthritis. The impact of PAO on return to sports and the factors influencing return to sport or patient satisfaction remain insufficiently documented. Therefore we performed a retrospective investigation aiming to: 1) evaluate the rate of return to sport after PAO, 2) identify factors associated with return to sport, patient satisfaction, and the achievement of a patien

[Evaluation of Patient Satisfaction in Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy].

This study investigated the factors that contribute to surgical satisfaction in robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). We assessed a total of 208 patients who underwent RARP for prostate cancer between May 2020 and April 2022 and completed the Expanded Prostate Cancer Index Composite (EPIC) questionnaire. The EPIC questionnaire was evaluated in the first and second year after surgery. We examined how treatment outcomes, such as urinary continence, sexual function, resection margins, and PSA recurrence, were associated with patient satisfaction. In the first year, 22, 52, 21, 3, and 2% of

Multidimensionality of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in Rhinoplasty Satisfaction.

The FACE-Q rhinoplasty module (nose and nostrils), Utrecht questionnaire, and Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation (NOSE) scale are validated Dutch patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) to evaluate rhinoplasty satisfaction. The objective of this study was to analyze the dimensionality of the measured variables in these four existing questionnaires. Additionally, we investigated the ability of the PROMS to measure change. A prospective single-center study was performed in a consecutive cohort of 106 Dutch-speaking patients. Patients were invited to fill in four PROMs: FACE-Q rhinoplasty mod

Improved Patient Satisfaction following Robotic-Assisted Total Knee Arthroplasty.

Approximately 20% of the patients are dissatisfied with their total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Computer technology has been introduced for TKA to provide real time intraoperative information on limb alignment and exact flexion/extension gap measurements. The purpose of this study was to determine if patient satisfaction could be improved with the use of robotic-assisted (RA) technology following primary TKA. A total of 120 consecutive patients undergoing RA-TKA with real time intraoperative alignment and gap balancing information were compared with a prospective cohort of 103 consecutive patient

Cost, Value, and Patient Satisfaction in Carpal Tunnel Surgery.

The cost of carpal tunnel release (CTR) surgery can be decreased and patient satisfaction increased by a few relatively simple changes. Although cost estimates vary in the literature, most investigators agree that open CTR costs less than endoscopic CTR, and the clinic procedure room or ambulatory surgery center is cheaper than the ambulatory surgery center, which is less than the hospital. Patient satisfaction can be increased by making office visits more patient-centered and improving the quality of dialogue between the surgeon and patient.

Patient Satisfaction and Functional Outcomes Following Secondary Patellar Resurfacing.

When secondary patellar resurfacing is performed, a uniformly and widely used scoring system that is validated for anterior knee pain caused by a retropatellar degeneration will give more insight into the results of this procedure. The cause of anterior knee pain following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is not always related to the patella itself. Other causes have been identified, such as an insufficient posterior cruciate ligament in the case of a posterior cruciate-retaining TKA or an internally rotated femoral and/or tibial component. Treatment of anterior knee pain following primary TKA wi
