Phimosis and redundant prepuce, as common problems in andrology, are found in the majority of male neonates. Early treatment of neonatal phimosis and redundant prepuce has the advantages of better cost--effectiveness and higher safety, and contributes much to the prevention of childhood urinary tract infection and adult sexually transmitted diseases, as well as to the improvement of genital hygiene. Infection from Histoplasma capsulatum is usually subclinical, but it also can be disseminated in patients with a compromised immune status. Involvement of the external genitalia is a rare finding, occurring by direct contact or hematogenous spread. We present a case of histoplasma posthitis in a 71-year-old man, manifesting with the extremely unusual presentation of phimosis. The diagnosis was confirmed using an immunohistochemical stain.

An unusual variant of concealed penis is described. Two neonates with epispadias and complete phimosis were diagnosed at birth and underwent delayed repair. These 2 cases are the 5th and 6th such reports in the literature. This anomaly's possible embryogenesis is reviewed.

Histologic examination of the prepuces removed from 78 consecutive patients with phimosis was performed during a 2-year period. In 15 cases (14.2%), the typical changes of lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA) were found. A different, distinct histologic pattern of fibrosis was noticed in six patients (7.7%). Clinically, the two conditions were indistinguishable and presented as severe, nonretractable phimosis. An 18-hour-old colt was presented for abdominal discomfort, preputial swelling, and frequent posturing to urinate. Examination of the scrotum confirmed 2 testes and no scrotal or inguinal hernia. Transabdominal ultrasound identified a distended bladder and no free fluid in the peritoneal cavity. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to examine surgical outcomes for the correction of clitoral phimosis caused by lichen sclerosus.
STUDY DESIGN: Eight women with lichen sclerosus underwent surgical repair of clitoral phimosis. They were assessed 12-36 months postoperatively by an independent research assistant. A questionnaire was used to assess the patients' perception of surgical success.

We present a case of a 32-year-old male who developed capecitabine-induced phimosis which resolved spontaneously without the need for circumcision within a few days of discontinuation of chemotherapy. The patient was on capecitabine with irinotecan chemotherapy for peritoneal metastasis from adenocarcinoma of the lower esophagus. A detailed literature review showed a few case reports with penile and scrotal erythema, ulceration, and swelling along with hand-foot syndrome, but none reported the occurrence of phimosis with spontaneous resolution.

Spontaneous resolution rate was determined and statistically compared to age, presence of symptoms at first medical visit and time until reevaluation.

PURPOSE: We evaluated a systematic review on the therapeutic efficacy of topical steroids in children with phimosis to provide data for the clinical options of pediatric phimosis.
METHODS: We searched the related original studies on topical steroid therapy in pediatric phimosis before August 2014. Two reviewers independently performed the study selection, data extraction, risk of bias and reporting quality assessment with confirmation by cross-checking. The quality of eligible studies was appraised with the 'Cochrane handbook.' The meta-analysis was performed by REVMAN 5.2 software.
