We study an s-wave superconductivity in a one-dimensional dimerized diamond lattice in the presence of spin-orbit coupling and Zeeman field. The considered diamond lattice, comprising of three sublattices per unitcell and having flat band, has two dimerization patterns; the intra unitcell hoppings have the same (opposite) dimerization pattern as the corresponding inter unitcell hoppings, namely, neighboring (facing) dimerization. Using the mean-field theory, we calculate the superconducting order parameter self-consistently and examine the stability of the superconducting phase against the spi

Exploration of superconductivity in Cr-based compounds has attracted considerable interest because only a few Cr-based superconductors (CrAs, A2Cr3As3 and ACr3As3 (A = K, Rb, Cs, Na)) have been discovered so far and they show an unconventional pairing mechanism. We report the discovery of bulk superconductivity at 5.25 K in chromium nitride in Pr3Cr10-xN11 with a cubic lattice structure. A relatively large upper critical field of H c2(0) ∼ 12.6 T is determined, which is larger than the estimated Pauli-paramagnetic pair-breaking magnetic field. The material has a large electronic specific-heat

Modeling materials properties is often challenged by the intricate interplay of multiple underlying physical processes that govern materials behavior. Machine learning (ML) approaches may capture such intricacy more effectively than physics-based models, as they can identify nontrivial correlations based on appropriate data. However, their flexibility often comes at the expense of physical interpretability. Here, we employ the sure-independence screening and sparsifying operator (SISSO) symbolic-regression method to identify an interpretable analytical equation for the superconducting critical

We demonstrate that soft fluctuations of translation symmetry-breaking loop currents provide a mechanism for unconventional superconductivity in kagome metals that naturally addresses the multiple superconducting phases observed under pressure. Focusing on the rich multi-orbital character of these systems, we show that loop currents involving both vanadium and antimony orbitals generate low-energy collective modes that couple efficiently to electrons near the Fermi surface and mediate attractive interactions in two distinct unconventional pairing channels. While loop-current fluctuations confi

We study phonon-mediated pairings in a single-flavor metal with a tunable Berry curvature. In the absence of Berry curvature, we discover an unexpected possibility: p-wave superconductivity emerging purely from the retardation effect, while the static Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) approximation fails to predict its existence. The gap function exhibits sign-change behavior in frequency (owing to the dynamical structure of the phonon-mediated interaction in the p-wave channel), and T_{c} obeys a BCS-like scaling. We further show that the Berry curvature stabilizes the chiral p-wave superconduc

We study theoretically how superlattices based on adatoms on surfaces of unconventional superconductors can be used to engineer novel pairing states that break time-reversal symmetry and exhibit nontrivial magnetic point symmetries. We illustrate this using a square-lattice Hubbard model with d-wave superconductivity and a subleading s-wave state as an example. An adatom superlattice with square-lattice symmetries is shown to stabilize an "orbital altermagnetic superconductor," a state that exhibits loop current patterns and associated orbital magnetic moments, which preserve superlattice tran

Loop current order has long been pursued in various electronic systems, including cuprates and honeycomb lattice materials, but its realization remains elusive in both experiment and theory. Intriguingly, recent experimental evidence for AV[Formula: see text]Sb[Formula: see text] (A = K, Rb, Cs) and related kagome metals hints at the formation of orbital currents in the charge-density wave-ordered regime, providing a mechanism for spontaneous time-reversal symmetry breaking in the absence of local moments. However, concrete theoretical model realizations of the loop-current order in the kagome

The spin dynamics and electronic orders of the kagome system at different filling levels stand as an intriguing subject in condensed matter physics. By first-principles calculations and random phase approximation analyses, we investigate the spin fluctuations and superconducting instabilities in kagome phase of CsCr3Sb5 under high pressure. At the filling level slightly below the kagome flat bands, our calculations reveal strong antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations in CsCr3Sb5, together with a leading s±-wave and a competing (dxy, d x 2 - y 2 )-wave superconducting order. Unlike the gene

The search for room-temperature superconductors is a major challenge in modern physics. The discovery of copper-oxide superconductors in 1986 brought hope but also revealed complex mechanisms that are difficult to analyze and compute. In contrast, the traditional electron-phonon coupling (EPC) mechanism facilitated the practical realization of superconductivity (SC) in metallic hydrogen. Since 2015, the discovery of new hydrogen compounds has shown that EPC can enable room-temperature SC under high pressures, driving extensive research. Advances in computational capabilities, especially exasca

We report the observation of superconductivity in (Pt0.2Ir0.8)3Zr5 with a chiral space group (P6122) at low temperatures. The bulk nature of the superconductivity at a transition temperature of 2.2 K was confirmed using specific heat measurements. We revealed that (Pt0.2Ir0.8)3Zr5 obeys the weak-coupling Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer model, and the dominant mechanism in the upper critical field is the orbital pair-breaking limit rather than the Pauli-Clogston limit. This indicates that the antisymmetric spin-orbit coupling caused by the chiral crystal structure does not significantly affect the su

High-temperature superconductivity remains a focus of experimental and theoretical research. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has been reported to be superconducting at high pressures and with a high transition temperature. We report on the direct observation of the expulsion of the magnetic field in H2S compressed to 153 gigapascals. A thin (119)Sn film placed inside the H2S sample was used as a sensor of the magnetic field. The magnetic field on the (119)Sn sensor was monitored by nuclear resonance scattering of synchrotron radiation. Our results demonstrate that an external static magnetic field of a

Magnetic/superconducting heterostructures represent a frontier in condensed matter physics, offering pathways to realize unconventional pairing mechanisms such as topological superconductivity, spin-triplet pairing, and Majorana zero modes for fault-tolerant quantum computing. In this work, we integrate the magnetic van der Waals material MnBi2Te4 (MBT) with a superconducting NbN thin film, achieving ultralow-disorder interfaces through Ti buffer layer engineering. Temperature- and field-dependent critical currents, extracted from differential resistance spectra, reveal robust coupling between

In low-dimensional superconductors, the interplay between quantum confinement and interfacial hybridization effects can reshape Cooper-pair wavefunctions and give rise to unconventional superconducting states. Here we use plasma-free confinement epitaxy assisted by a carbon buffer layer to synthesize a gallium trilayer sandwiched between graphene and a 6H-SiC(0001) substrate. Within this confined gallium layer, we demonstrate interfacial Ising-type superconductivity driven by atomic orbital hybridization. Electrical transport measurements reveal that the in-plane upper critical magnetic field

We propose a theory for the microscopic origin of the multiple superconducting and magnetic phases observed in CeRh_{2}As_{2} based on the existence of Van Hove singularities near the Fermi energy. The nonsymmorphic symmetry of this material implies that these singularities are located away from high-symmetry momenta; i.e., they have so-called type-II character. This allows us to include the significant Rashba spin-orbit coupling in CeRh_{2}As_{2} in a parquet renormalization group approach. When Fermi-surface nesting is strong, our analysis reveals two closely competing superconducting states

Implementing topological superconductivity (TSC) and Majorana states (MSs) is one of the most significant and challenging tasks in both fundamental physics and topological quantum computations. In this work, taking the obstructed atomic insulator (OAI) Nb_{3}Br_{8}, s-wave superconductor (SC) NbSe_{2}, and ferromagnetic insulator (FMI) CrI_{3} as an example, we propose a new setup to realize the 2D chiral TSC and MSs in the SC/OAI/FMI heterostructure, which could avoid the subband problem effectively and has the advantage of huge Rashba spin-orbit coupling. As a result, the TSC phase can be st

The importance of electronic structure evolutions and reconstitutions is widely acknowledged for strongly correlated systems. The precise effect of pressurized Fermi surface topology on metallization and superconductivity is a much-debated topic. In this work, an evolution from insulating to metallic behavior, followed by a superconducting transition, is systematically investigated in SnS2 under high pressure. In-situ X-ray diffraction measurements show the stability of the trigonal structure under compression. Interestingly, a Lifshitz transition, which has an important bearing on the metalli

The combination of ferromagnetism, superconductivity, and spin-orbit coupling in interfacial two-dimensional electron liquids (2DELs) assembles the essential ingredients for realizing tantalized topological or spin polarized superconductivity for interfacial oxitronics. Unfortunately, these ingredients usually compete and are sometimes mutually exclusive. Here, by optimally designing a ferromagnet/superconductor heterostructure (LaAl0.7Mn0.3O3/SrTiO3), we demonstrate a ferromagnetic 2DEL with strong Rashba spin-orbit coupling and typical superconducting behavior. More excitingly, Rashba spin-o

Stacking superconductors (SC) with ferromagnetic materials (FM) significantly impact superconductivity, enabling the emergence of spin-triplet states and topological superconductivity. The tuning of superconductivity in SC-FM heterostructure is also reflected in the recently discovered superconducting diode effect, characterized by nonreciprocal electric transport when time and inversion symmetries are broken. Notably, in SC-FM systems, a time reversal operation reverses both current and magnetization, leading to the conceptualization of superconducting magnetization diode effect (SMDE). In th

Merging superconductivity and ferromagnetism in a single material may promise unparalleled quantum properties for next-generation devices. Here, we bring together the two antagonistic phenomena at a record-high temperature via electric-field controlled lithiation of FeSe. The in-situ gating allows us to switch the simple compound of FeSe between a nonmagnetic superconductor and a superconducting ferromagnet. In the latter state, itinerant ferromagnetism persists from above 200 K to a temperature well below the superconducting transition temperature (45 K), as demonstrated not only by magneto-t
