INTRODUCTION: In August 2016, the United Nations (U.N.) Secretary General acknowledged the U.N.'s role in the cholera epidemic that has beset Haiti since 2010. Two months later, the Secretary General issued a historic apology to the Haitian people before the U.N. General Assembly, for the organization's insufficient response to the cholera outbreak. These steps are part of the U.N.'s "new approach" to cholera in Haiti, which also includes launching a material assistance package for those most affected by cholera.

PURPOSE: Several studies reported previously increased risk for obesity in childhood cancer survivors (CCS). The objectives of this article were to evaluate the rate of overweight and obesity in CCS compared to the general population, to identify possible risk factors for obesity in these patients, and to assess changes in weight status over time.
METHODS: A historical cohort including all patients (n=820) treated at a tertiary center over a twenty-year period, who were diagnosed with cancer at age <18 years, and had at least one year of follow-up after completion of anti-cancer treatment.

Gastrointestinal mucormycosis (GIM) is a rare opportunistic fungal infection. One third of all patients are children and of these, 50% are infants. The most common clinical mimic is necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). It has to be differentiated from this entity as the treatment is entirely different. High index of suspicion by the clinicians and the pathologists aids in early diagnosis and immediate treatment. If untreated, it has a frequent fatal outcome. Very few survivors of GIM are found in literature. We report a rare case of a surviving neonate of GIM.

Congenital tumors account for 2% to 4% of all pediatric central nervous system tumors. Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) represents a small subset of these tumors. Despite harboring histologic features similar to older patients, infants with GBM exhibit improved survival and respond more favorably to surgery and chemotherapy. The purpose of this pilot study was to describe ways in which survivors cope after a death by suicide of a family member or significant other and to explore the psychometric properties of the Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WoCQ). An examination of inter-item correlations indicated that subscales were unidimensional and reliabilities ranged from α = .57 to α = .82. OBJECTIVES: To test the hypothesis that long-term survivors of low-risk Kawasaki disease (KD) have ongoing vascular inflammation and dysfunction and a higher risk of accelerated atherosclerosis than healthy control subjects.
