BACKGROUND: Supraclavicular brachial plexus block offers several advantages over general anesthesia, yet segmental ulnar sparing is one of the procedure's key drawbacks. Many parameters were proposed to ascertain segmental ulnar sparing, including thermal imaging and perfusion index. Compression of the ulnar nerve in Guyon's canal is an uncommon phenomenon. Reports of ulnar nerve palsy secondary to ulnar artery pseudoaneurysm at this anatomical location are very rare and equivalent pathology just distal to this site is unheard of. Here we present such a case, which featured a delayed onset of symptoms. This followed penetrating trauma to the hand. Our methods for diagnosis, operative planning and surgical treatment are included.

In this paper, we describe a very rare variant in the course of the ulnar artery that we encountered in dissecting the right upper limb of a 74-year-old man. The ulnar artery arose standardly from the brachial artery in the cubital fossa. However, its ensuing course differed from the norm. The artery entered together with the ulnar vein and median nerve into the pronator canal (between the humeral and ulnar heads of the pronator teres). The clinical value of distal ulnar artery perforator flap in composite defects of the hand is demonstrated in a case series of nine patients with severe injuries of the hand. BACKGROUND: Burn injuries and post burn contractures of the little fingers and areas around are quite common. Release of these contractures may lead to full thickness soft tissue defects which need soft tissue cover. BACKGROUND: Superficial ulnar artery is a well-known vascular anomaly that may cause special risks because of possible impairment of the vessel by mistake during harvesting fasciocutaneous forearm flaps.
METHODS: The charts of patients who had undergone forearm flap transfer were reviewed for vascular anomalies. When a superficial ulnar artery was present, a superficial ulnar artery flap was raised and arteriography was performed postoperatively to figure out the vascular pattern in the contralateral arm.

The so-called hypothenar hammer syndrome is a rare entity caused by lesions of the ulnar artery secondary to repetitive trauma to the hypothenar eminence, typically found in persons working with vibrating tools. Two cases of ulnar artery aneurysm, with concomitant ulnar nerve compression in the palm are presented. Both followed acute injury and presented with an increasingly painful, warm swelling within 2 weeks of injury. An initial diagnosis of infection was made by experienced clinicians in each case. Hypothenar hammer syndrome (HHS) is a vascular injury from repetitive trauma to the hypothenar eminence, causing ulnar artery damage. Symptoms include digital pain and paresthesia and can progress to ulceration or necrosis.
