During a 12 year period, 110 patients were submitted to surgery for correction of renovascular hypertension. The pathologic process was atherosclerosis in 65, fibrodysplasia in 28, aneurysms in 6 abdominal coarctation in 5, aortoarteritis in 2 and 3 miscellaneous lesions. Operative procedures used on 148 renal arteries have been: nephrectomy (12), reconstructive surgery (133). Seven cases of pulmonary valve stenosis due to congenital dysplasia of the valvular apparatus have been corrected by patch-graft enlargement of the right ventricular outflow tract. The six surviving patients (85%) are now leading normal lives with good exercise tolerance. The satisfactory right ventricular performance, manifested by these subjects after the operation and in the long-term follow-up, supports the validity of the procedure in the presence of a normal right ventricle and tricuspid valve.

A randomized trial comparing two prophylactic antibiotics in vascular surgery was reviewed retrospectively. Two hundred thirty-two patients were given cephalothin sodium, and 168 patients were given oxacillin sodium. External grafting of aortic and iliac artery aneurysms has been accomplished in 33 highly selected poor risk patients over a period of eight years. This experience demonstrated that external grafting of aneurysms is a technically demanding operative procedure which is accompanied by significant early and late morbidity. INTRODUCTION: Floppy glans syndrome (FGS) is a potential complication of penile prosthesis placement in patients with erectile dysfunction.
