Coxiella burneti phase I, purified from a formalin-inactivated yolk-sac vaccine, was separated into two bands of morphologically distinct cell types when subjected to sucrose gradient centrifugation. OBJECTIVE: This study is intended to screen potential antigen for Behcet's disease (BD) by using human microvascular endothelial cells (HUVEC).
METHODS: Following cell-based indirect immunofluorescence assay with sera from BD patients, proteins extracted from HUVEC were separated and detected by Western blotting. A 46-year-old man presented with chest pain at a local hospital in July 2007. Chest computed tomography (CT) showed a 48-mm mass in the anterior mediastinum.
