We report the case of a patient with a widespread bullous skin disease and linear deposits of IgG and C3 at the dermal-epidermal junction using direct immunofluorescence microscopy. Few studies of intracranial mummified brain tissue have been undertaken. This is because of the infrequency in which preserved human central nervous system tissue is encountered and the scarcity of available mummies from different parts of the world. Six clinical isolates of the Legionnaires' disease bacterium have been isolated from patients in two Michigan hospitals.
