Referral of patients with endometrial (EC) and/or ovarian cancer (OC) for genetic counseling is based on age at diagnosis and family history. Many patients with hereditary cancers are missed by following this strategy. We determined acceptance and mutation detection rate of offering genetic counseling and testing to unselected EC and OC patients. This paper aims to evaluate the clinical characteristics of ovarian cancer patients with cerebral metastases. Ten ovarian cancer patients with brain metastases were retrospectively identified from a total of 539 ovarian cancer patients. Their characteristics before and at the time of diagnosis of cerebral metastases were analysed. The survival of them was also measured. Ovarian cancer is among the deadliest in women. Current treatment strategies fail to cure many patients owing to the difficulties of eradicating peritoneal implants frequently associated with this pathology. Photodynamic therapy represents a promising treatment as it offers many advantages over alternative strategies: diagnostic properties, specific targeting of abnormal cells, possibility to be combined with other therapies.

Juvenile ovarian granulosa cell tumors (JGCTs) are described infrequently in pediatrics, and their finding in prepubertal patients is exceptional. Most of the tumors are benign, but recurrences up to 4 years of follow-up have been described. We present 2 cases of JGCT in infants: 1 with late recurrence of bilateral ovarian JGCT and 1 in a newborn with Ollier disease. Clinical diagnosis and treatment of JGCT are revised.

Tuberculosis is an important cause of mortality due to its high prevalence, considering that one third of the worlds population is infected with the tuberculosis bacillus. We report the first case of carcinomatous lymphangitis associated with active pulmonary tuberculosis. The patient was a 58 year-old woman. Starting about seven months before the initial examination, the patient began to experience a general malaise, coupled with reddish purple scaling eruption on the MP joints, knuckles, elbows, and knees, and dark purplish erythema on both upper eyelids. About two months before the initial examination, the patient visited a local medical doctor because she began to experience arthralgia and muscular weakness. Based on the condition of her weakening proximal muscles and increased levels of myogenic enzymes, the patient was diagnosed as having Dermatomyositis.

A newly developed murine monoclonal antibody, DS6, immunohistochemically reacts with an antigen, CA6, that is expressed by human serous ovarian carcinomas but not by normal ovarian surface epithelium or mesothelium.
