Investigating the role of therapist-patient interaction during robot-assisted gait training after incomplete spinal cord injury: the INTER-RO-GAIT randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: In the neurorehabilitation framework of treadmill-based robot-assisted gait training (t-RAGT), a threefold relationship among physiotherapist (Pht), patient (Pt), and the selected robotic device should be considered. Furthermore, the type of visual FeedBack (FB) selected for the training and how the Pht guides and supports the Pt have an important impact on Pt's engagement. Pht-Pt interaction is mostly effective when FB with high technical content is employed, and it affects Pt's visual attention and emotional experience during training. The INTER-RO-GAIT project proposes an experi

Complex Wound Healing Outcomes for Outpatients Receiving Care via Telemedicine, Home Health, or Wound Clinic: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Use of telemedicine has expanded rapidly in recent years, yet there are few comparative studies to determine its effectiveness in wound care. To provide experimental data in the field of telemedicine with regard to wound care, a pilot project named "Domoplaies" was publicly funded in France in 2011. A randomized, controlled trial was performed to measure the outcomes of patients with complex wounds who received home wound care from a local clinician guided by an off-site wound care expert via telemedicine, versus patients who received in-home or wound clinic visits with wound care professional

[Score-controlled duration of follow-up treatment after alloplastic hip and knee replacement].

BACKGROUND: In the literature many studies can be found addressing the effectiveness of individual measures and therapies within the medical rehabilitation. The duration of the rehabilitation itself is rarely taken into account. Consequently the duration of postoperative inpatient medical rehabilitation after initial implantation of alloarthroplastic hip and knee replacements in osteoarthritis of the hip or knee was the object of our analysis. PATIENTS AND METHODS: In the present prospective study 100 patients each with osteoarthritis of the hip or knee were presented at a follow-up treatment

Predicting Functional Outcomes in Patients with Femoral Neck Fractures Treated by Hemiarthroplasty.

BACKGROUND: A femoral neck fracture leads to serious health-related, social and economic consequences and, according to the con-temporary doctrine of medical management, should be treated surgically. Data provided by the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System indicate that there were 1534 patients with femoral neck fractures treated by arthroplasty with a Moore's endoprosthesis and 4744 with a bipolar endoprosthesis in Poland in 2014. Since the risk of femoral neck fracture increases exponentially with the patient's age, and population aging is undoubtedly a real demographic
