This article briefly retrospect the development of microarray, introduces the basic working procedures and the current challenges of DNA microarray, and reviews its application to andrological research, as on the testis, spermatogenic cells, epididymis and sperm. We hope it could play a directive role in the studies of male infertility.

Hybrid breakdown is a type of reproductive failure that appears after the F2 generation of crosses between different species or subspecies. It is caused by incompatibility between interacting genes. Shao-Fu-Zhu-Yu-Tang (SFZYT) is reportedly beneficial to sperm. In this study, we examined sperm acrosomal activity and serum free radical changes to evaluate the possible mechanism of SFZYT. The effects of two different zinc chelators, diethyldithiocarbamate (DEDTC) and calcium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), in full semen samples and 'swim-up' samples were investigated.
