BACKGROUND: Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma (LGFMS) is a rare soft tissue tumor that has a tendency to grow in the deep soft tissue of the trunk and extremities. We report a case of brain abscess following the percutaneous treatment for trigeminal neuralgia. This procedure envisages the access with a needle into the middle cranial fossa through the oral cavity. OBJECTIVE: Oral nerve injuries are a less frequent complication but they involve a decrease in the patient life quality. The purpose of the current review is to know the described risk factors to prevent injuries and to know the therapies against an established injury.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A Pubmed search of the English and Spanish language literature from 2000-2012 using the keywords 'oral surgery' or 'trigeminal nerve injuries' or 'lingual nerve injuries' or 'mandibular nerve injuries' was performed. AIM: Cleft nose is an important sequela after primary cheiloplasty in cleft lip patients. Not touching the cleft lip nose in primary cleft lip repair was dogmatic in the past, although it meant severe functional, aesthetic, and psychologic problems for the child. OBJECTIVE: Consider whether surgery alone in the treatment of early cancers of the hypopharynx can give identical or better results in terms of survival and local control than radiotherapy.
